Sensors are present in Super Premium cars (Eg Merc E class or BMW 5)
If the switch is present, it itself signifies that sensors are not present. Manufacturers often cut down on such lesser known features for India.

In my view the features are Dead Pedal, Head Lamp Leveling switch and rear seat seatbelts.[:)]. Quite an interesting topic buddy!

Akash

I was unaware of the switch to turn the airbag off. I have always known about the weight sensors for the passenger airbags. I have also noticed in some cars that the driver's seat belt needs to be fastened for the driver's airbag to be turned on.

I guess it varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Hyundai never provided off switch nor has weight sensors.

and yes, seatbelts have to be used for airbag to work.

Why they keep passenger airbag switch ,it must activate at any time nah ?

I would agree that dead pedal is one feature i miss out in my ride, though i have seen many hyundai cars having it but owners doesn't use it.

Voice recognition feature is not used by some .

Lane change indicator (indicators most use but this one most of them don't know)

If you are driving alone, there is no need for passenger airbag. In case of airbag deployment incident, you can save the cost of replacing the passenger airbag. Apart from that, there are standard reasons for switching off the airbag:

  • For both driver and passenger sides - Individuals with medical conditions in which the risks of deploying the airbag exceed the risk of impact in the absence of an airbag
  • For the driver side (in addition to medical conditions) - Those who cannot position themselves to properly operate their cars at least 10 inches (25.4 cm) back from the center of the driver airbag cover
  • For the passenger side (in addition to medical conditions) - Individuals who need to transport a baby in a rear-facing child restraint in the front seat because the car has no rear seat, the rear seat is too small to accommodate a rear-facing child seat or because it's necessary to constantly monitor a child's medical condition
  • For the passenger side (in addition to medical conditions) - Individuals who need to carry children between one and 12 years old in the front seat because (a) the car has no rear seat, (b) the vehicle owner must carry more children than can fit into the back seat or (c) because it's necessary to constantly monitor a child's health

I have to use all of these , though not frequently .

Here are few what I feel-

1> ISOFIX child Points- Hardly ever seen proper child seat in use. Kids are often jumping around in their moms laps
2> Child Door Locks
3> Airbag OFF switch- No one Bothers
4> Seatbelts! For the Ignorant Fools.
5> Low beams- Most idiots are driving in HIGH beams only.
6> Cruise control- Due to messy Indian traffic & Lack of long straights
7> Puncture Repair Kit.
8> Max geared speed of the car! I don't think you can maxx out a car in Indian conditions (Or perhaps you have a very crappy car)[frustration]
What is airbag on off switch ?
Never heard about it

IMO this is a very useful feature. I first saw in in the Uno and I love it. I find it difficult to drive without one. Imn fact I'm looking for a way to fit one in my Rapid.

Sorry for OT - But which car provides switch for ON/OFF Airbag?

I think most cars with airbags have this switch. It's usually in the glove compartment.
