hmm that's dissaponting.

I'm using old generation of sygic (mmi) on my note and it works beautifully. fully offline and does not bug/confuse like google does. we did 3000km circuits on it reliably.

driving a pajero at 80kmph should be quite hard isn't it? BTW that fe is a deal breaker. I can go twice as fast in xuv and still have 10.5 kmpl. even i10 petrol (which is known as gas guzzling) is more efficient than this beast.

Additions Part 8 – LED Low Beam & Parking Bulbs and Logo projectors

After seeing the results of the LED bulbs used by Iron Rock, ordered the same only for Low beam. This ensured that there would not be any glare to the other road users as the optics of the Projector with the cut-off would take care of this aspect.

The package

The previous LED bulbs for parking lights had plastic body which recently failed during continuous night usage. The same were replaced with aluminium body LED parking bulbs to allow for better cooling.

I always wanted to have some illumination in form of a puddle lamp one the door was opened to see where you are stepping out the vehicle in the night. While ordering the LED bulbs, ordered the logo projectors which are externally pasted on the door thus enabling me to revert back to original setup incase the need arises. The only drawback of this setup is that it requires external power in form of 3xAAA batteries on each door and a small magnet to be pasted on the door sill to automatically turn ON/OFF the light.

Eighth Service experience:

The Eighth Service was done at 69,949 Kms in June 2017. The total bill came to Rs. 22,089/- with Synthetic Engine Oil. The Rear Brake pads were worn out and were replaced. Their price has gone up by a couple of hundred rupees. The tyres were rotated and during alignment (which was fine), it was noticed that the adjustment of Camber via cam bolt has reached end and might need replacement at the next alignment.

There was an issue of black smoke under acceleration. For the same, the intake hoses were checked, EGR inspected and a diesel decarbonisation additive from Bardahl (Dieseltune Synergy) was added to the fuel tank. There was an issue with the less effective cooling of the air conditioner especially at the rear. The AC gas was recharged for the same. While recharging, the recovered gas was measured to be 730 gms – almost 110 gms less than required.

The problem of cloud of black smoke still persisted and I suspected the same to be due to Dieseltronic. The same was completely removed and with that, the problem also went away. It was clear that the box had some issue. A quick message and call to Race Dynamics and they recalled the box for inspection. A week later, the box was received and I was informed that the fuel maps have been reloaded. Since then the problem has not re-surfaced.

Where roads part...

Since it's American cousin came home, it was hardly driven for 100 Kms in the last 2 months mainly because of the lack of comfort the automatic gave. It was best to find a new home for the Pajero Sport and bid it a final goodbye. Things moved pretty fast and with-in a week of posting the ad, the deal was concluded.

After breaking the news to the family, kids wanted One Last Ride - it was an emotional moment for everyone but more for the kids. It is worth mentioning that the reliability and comfort it offered was the sole reason that before taking it out for any trip whether 3 Kms or 3000 Kms long, I didn't bat an eyelid during any of the 71,604 Kms traversed.

Sharing one final picture of the Pajero Sport handing over the baton to the Endeavour
