Dear Prakritij, I would suggest you to go for 165/70 R14 for an upgrade. It will provide better ride quality due to higher sidewall, grip due to slight increase in width while impact on milage is very minimum.

Thank You Guhan M V but upon calculating, there is a difference of 5.3% in the circumference of both sizes and more than 2% difference is not recommended.

Hi friends. New to this forum. I have booked a white stingray. I would like have a detail update on the below doubts.

1. Is teflon coating necessary. Should I go with dealer or 3M?
Dealer - Rs. 3300 ; 3M - Rs. 2700

2. Does the new cars come with anti rust coating? Is it necessary?
Dealer- Rs. 3000 ; 3M - Rs. 3430 with 5 years warranty
3M guys suggest to go for silencer coating also which costs Rs. 1137.

3. Reverse parking camera. The dealer charges 3 times than after market. Maruti advises the non-MGA accessories that tamper the electrical wiring would tamper the warranty. Will the 3rd party guys tamper with the electrical wiring for fitting the reverse camera.
Dealer - Rs. 13000 (Discount available) ; 3rd Party - Rs. 4000-5000

4. Sun film. The dealer has solar guard film and I have not heard of that brand.
Dealer - Rs. 2800 ; 3M - Rs. 5800 ; Other 3rd party - 2500 for solar guard and 3800-4000 for 3M

5. Maintenance package 5yr 50k - Rs. 22047
The entire maintenance for 5 years will be taken care by maruti.

The showroom guy said only once in a year service is required and the costs would be within Rs. 5000/service. So is this package helpful? Bcoz if we divide 22000 for 5 years it is Rs. 4400/yr. So I didn't find any advantage of taking this pack.

It would be of great help if you help me in the above matters.

1. Not necessary
2. Not necessary
3. Go for MGA ones. But I agree pricing is quite a loot. XUV rev-cam costs 4k from delaer itself.
4. All kinds of films are banned legally, So I can't comment here.
5. Maintenance pack is quite attractive deal. Better go for it.

Hi,

Thank you for your updates.

Regarding maintenance package, when split for 5 yrs it would account for Rs. 4400/yr and the maruti guys also say it will cost within 4-5k/yr. So it doesn't give any advantage paying upfront.

You better study the T&C of Maintenance Package to see whats included and whats not.
Maint Costs are not fixed like 4.4k a year. It may go up/down depending on use, road conditions etc.

1. Not necessary.
2. Not necessary.
3. Reverse Parking Camera is also not necessary for Wagon R IMO. I have installed reverse parking sensors with LED display and they are quite good.
4. No comments.
5. I think the average service cost with regular maintenance should be around Rs. 2000-3000. Your SA mentioning Rs. 5000/service is on higher side IMO. He might be quoting high just to sell you the AMC.

By the way, why did you not consider the Celerio manual ZXI. I think it would have cost you the same as WR Sting Ray. Wagon R has pathetic boot space where as the boot space of Celerio is much useful.

Hi.

Thank you for your kindness to reply for my queries.

!. Reverse camera is necessary as my wife will also be using that mostly and she should be convenient. Also nowadays I think camera is a must accessory and will help in many ways.
2. AMC - Maybe he is quoting ona higher side. Anyways I decided not to opt for that.

3. I always wanted a AMT due to bangalore traffic. I have a linea which i'm finding difficult to drive in bumber to bumber traffic. Left knee pains a lot. Initially i was about to book celerio zxi(o) amt but when visited showroom the stingray which was termed as discontinued was available with pretty good discount of 35k. It also has an advantage of high seating posture which my wife liked. Also it has few additional cosmetic upgrades which are worth according to me and with discounted price it is lesser than celerio.

Hi pals, now as I came to know that stingray has been stopped and will not be in production, me & wife bit skeptical about whether we can go ahead with stingray or change to celerio zxi (o) amt. Please advise.

Stingray was nothing but a mod of regular Wagon-R.
Just that the Headlights, Front Bumper and some styling is different. I do not see any problem with mechanical parts availability and general service.

Also, you'll be holding a unique vehicle which will be uncommon on our roads. I'll say go ahed.

Congratulations on your Celerio AMT,
does it comes with reverse park assist(camera/sensor)?

Please find my opinions in bold as you may have the same queries for your new car too...

not necessary, maybe done if the vehicle resides in a seaside area.

same as above

if not available, you can ask the third party if they can install without any wire cutting/splitting.

No it doesn't come with reverse park assist. It lacks few features the zxi (o) manual has like
1. Driver seat height adjust
2. Fog lamps
3. Alloy wheels
4. Security system

Also the mat lining and seat fabric in celerio is very thin. I didn't expect something like this from maruti.

Also I feel the seat cushion is good in wagon r and stingray.

I experience a strange thing in celerio. After a turn normally the steering will return back to the position if not fully at least to some extent which I have experienced in most of my previous cars, which unfortunately is not happening in celerio. Even i drove couple of other celerio's which also is same as mine.

May be they have cut down the cost and kept the pricing similar to what hyundai's offer and get a high margin is what i feel. Because maruti's are not meant for these kind of feedbacks. I had swift previously which was very good.
