Re: New Swift Dzire Sub-4 Meters Length

Looks like there is an automatic variant for the mid variant - VXI.

Some of the online reviews mention that the boot is better integrated compared to the earlier version. I am still struggling to understand this point.[confused]

What I feel that the boot in Dezire look better fitted than the present one(in term of look, design).
The present one looks very horrible from rear.

+1. This one looks much much better than the current Dzire. The current Dzire is one of the ugliest cars on Indian roads.

This one will be a good competition to the Indigo CS if priced right.

The Dzire CS is looking far better than the current sedan version. Except for that plasticky grill, i am loving almost all the alteration done to this car. Further more, the addition of beige color is making the interiors look roomier and airy.

Re: New Swift Dzire Sub-4 Meters Length

The new Swift DZire won’t be priced any cheaper, even though it enjoys excise benefits. Expect prices to range between Rs. 5-7.3 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the new DZire.

The new Swift DZire, which they claim have 150 new features. The old Swift DZire will not be discontinued and will cater to the taxi segment. The boot space has decreased from 440-liters to 316-liters!

The diesel engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the petrol will be mated to both a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission (VXi variant only, comes with ABS as standard).

The car will look much better than the current Dzire. Thanks to Kizashi like treatment to the boot door. This will be an interesting launch of 2012.

There are many buyers who reject Dzire for the looks on offer, however with improved rear side it will attract many.

(No offense to anyone on the forum about looks. It is just a personal taste of things)

The tail lamp cluster at the rear looks much better than the previous Dzire. Boot space seems to be compromised however pretty ok for standard small families. Waiting to see how Maruti's pricing goes on this one!!

Re: New Swift Dzire Sub-4 Meters Length

There is news that MSIL is increasing prices on all their models,

MUMBAI (Reuters) - Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (:MRTI.NSMRTI.NS), the country's top carmaker, raised prices of all its models on Tuesday, sending its shares up as much as 11 percent as investors rallied behind the company after months of falling sales appeared to have levelled in December.
Maruti, which lost $500 million in production due to labour strikes that shut down its factories for weeks last summer, has been hit the hardest by a car sales slowdown in Asia's third-largest economy caused by high interest rates and rising fuel costs.

Sales of small cars, Maruti's key product, have stalled as the increased cost of credit and ownership deter potential buyers. Maruti's sales fell 53 percent in October as production returned to full strength, but slid only 7 percent last month.

"There's a sense that the retreating inflation means we can expect a rate cut soon," said Vineet Hetamasaria, auto analyst at PINC Research in Mumbai. "With the optimism around, Maruti is definitely looking more positive than negative to the market."

Maruti, 54.2 percent owned by Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp (:7269.T7269.T), raised prices of all its vehicles by 0.3-3.4 percent due to adverse foreign exchange movements and a rise in commodity prices, a company source told Reuters on Tuesday.

Domestic rivals of such as Mahindra & Mahindra (:MAHM.NSMAHM.NS) and South Korea's Hyundai Motor Corp (:005380.KS005380.KS) have already raised prices citing rising input costs.

Indian carmakers will see only marginal sales growth at best in the fiscal year that ends in March, the industry body said last week, adding that a cut in interest rates could spur a rebound next year.

Maruti's shares were up 10.1 percent at 1110.00 rupees at 1530 (1000 GMT), in a Mumbai market up 1.6 percent. Shares in domestic rival Tata Motors (:TAMO.NSTAMO.NS) were up 1.4 percent, while Mahindra & Mahindra shares were up 2.3 percent.

Re: New Swift Dzire Sub-4 Meters Length

If the wheelbase is the same as swift, then I doubt how many people will opt for it & if top end version of dzire CS diesel costs 7+L ex-showroom, then I wonder why would one not buy Manza Aura ABS then.

And yes, manza cs won't be there in near future for sure.

Btw, current dzire will be for taxi market ? God bless current dzire owners then.
