Ignis launch in India to be expected in the festive season 2016 ( Oct -16). Speculated to launch through Nexa outlets.
Design could be the same, to know more await for its unveiling at the Auto Expo- 2016

Is there any concrete news on this (Ignis) ? Will it be launched at Auto Expo ?

Front Look is good while side and rear is ugly. I dint like it, side profile looks lot like AStar, interiors are nice though. If this is priced in 3.5-6 lakhs range, surely will consider one.

I'm looking forward to the launch of Ignis too. All reports suggest festive season, September 2016. Hope they change their minds and bring it sooner.

So they are launching this around Diwali. I wish they launched it earlier-- not sure if my left leg can wait that long (provided this comes with CVT/AMT)!

Confirmed.
Ignis will come in both petrol and diesel versions . 1.3DDiS is the diesel engine in the Ignis for India. It will also be come in the AT varaint.

Exclusive: Maruti Suzuki Ignis Spotted Testing in India

Soon after the Delhi Auto Expo Unveiling, Maruti Suzuki Ignis spotted testing, to launch with 1.2-L Petrol Engine & 1.3-L Diesel Engine

Derived from the i-M4 concept, the production version of Ignis was recently unveiled at the ongoing 2016 Delhi Auto Expo last week. It was first showcased at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show last year and launched in Japan last month . Now, As the Vitara Brezza is ready to launch, Maruti R&D team starts testing the IGNIS Micro-SUV in India and the car is spotted in somewhere around Delhi-NCR. It will be the premium entry level car and to be retailed through the NEXA Dealerships which offers premium experience to buyers.

I really don't think they should test it in a camouflage. For past one whole week, each one has seen this car closely so there is nothing new. I hope they launch it in 2016 itself.

I've been waiting for a proper upgrade from my WagonR and have shortlisted Honda City, S-Cross and the Ignis. I drive 40km a day so a petrol is preferred so that's why Honda City (V petrol)is on the list but S-Cross is what I like in terms of build quality, interiors and overall feel inside (zeta). But Ignis seems to have the best of both worlds if the top variant comes with a cvt. Waiting for its launch to end my 2 year hunt! Have to wait to till October or November unless one of you guys have some good news of an early launch:).

Ignis will be launched in India during the festive season, Sept- Oct 2016. Confirmed to come in AT - CVT in petrol.
Diesel will be the 1.3 DDiS engine .
