Good buy Mate[clap]

Nice practical car!

Is the ride and handling in the Innova territory? Will you recommend it for someone with bad back?

Enjoy the drive.

Rgds,

Charlyth
It rides and handles better than the innova and much, much better than the Xylo. Very nice car.

Very true as it is not that big as innova the handling is more easy and after 2000 rpm it is powerful and delivers a good mileage,Xylo is no where and please dont compare it with SUZUKI.They launched it after a good research on indian market.Duster is the only one near to ertiga.

Hi, The second service was done yesterday. The car is still running very good. They filled the tyres with nitrogen instead of air. What is the benefit if we fill nitrogen instead of air. They said that nitrogen stays for 3 months. Is it better? And they also charged approximately Rs.1500 for wheel alingment oil checks etc....

Nitrogen does not expand like normal air which expands when Tyre is heated due to road friction.

Do remember that our Air contains Nitrogen in abundance so you are not filling totally different air [:D]

I have been using Nitrogen since a year and i can confirm that Air pressure looses very slowly which is good. Dont go with fixed interval such as 3 months. It depends on your driving too.

Lets assume you used to check Tyre pressure every 500 kms and if you drive only 500 km, then may be 3 months makes sense. If you drive 1000-1500 kms a month, better check once in 2 months.

Okay, so nitrogen would be better as i find it smoother on the bumps now better than when it was on air.

All that is just feeling [:)]. Where Nitrogen helps is by keeping constant pressure. and since Tyre pressure does not change much, it sometimes helps with good handling and FE. For me most helpful part is I dont need to change air every 2 weeks. I can change it after 2 months or so.

Can anybody confirm if the pressure remained same during this long gap of two months with Nitrogen. How much do they charge for complete filling for the first time with Nitrogen and subsequent topping up every two months. Can air be filled as top up if in case of non availability of nitrogen fill station.

Pressure can never remain same over a long gap. Various factors come into picture such as Life of Tyre(New/medium/old), Road conditions(Bumpy or smooth) and the Load(number of passengers), Nature of driving( Rash,Spirited, sedate etc.) They all decide on pressure loss.

Typically Fresh fill would cost anything between 25-50rs per Tyre. Since they need to completely remove all the air and fill Nitrogen. If you are going for a new Tyre, that is the best time to opt for Nitrogen. They give it free too

Every refill will cost 5-10 rs per Tyre. I remember some Big pumps do a free topup if your bill runs beyond say 1 to 2000 rs. But this is just top up.

I have been using nitrogen for past 3+ years & fill nitrogen from same fuel station consistently. Though nitrogen-filled I check the pressure every 2 weeks, when I refill Diesel.

On an average, at least 2 wheels would have lost 1 - 2 PSI which is very less and I guess tyres filled with normal air would lose much more. On occasions I have seen no pressure loss in any of the tyres.

You can definitely top with normal air. Absolutely no issues at all. Normal air also contains 79% nitrogen, while nitrogen refill is 100% nitrogen.

Some knowledge I acquired on this topic:

1. As some explained in the thread nitrogen molecules are comparatively bigger and hence cannot escape that easily through porous surface of the tyres when compared to normal air. Hence no loss of pressure.
2. Nitrogen doesn't heat up as much as normal air which means, constant pressure even in long drives.

Dear mohit,
I have been using nitrogen for past 5 years in my steel wheeled Zen.
You can try Mahadev tyres, sector no 17-18,Link road, near MGF Toyota workshop.Ph:9650925343 or Shyam tyre point, sector no 48,opposite Omaxe gurgoan mall,Sohna road pH:66450187.

Regards,
Aneesh.

Thanks Aneesh, will try once for sure (specially in winters coming soon, wherein i get kind of flat tyre sometimes in cold mornings [cry]). Lets see if it makes a difference than normal air.[:)]

I also have been using Nitrogen since delivery of my LUV boy last year June!
Really makes the difference. Rides smooth and controlled on uneven roads!
I have been using Nitrogen in my old Indica also and recommend everyone to go for it for better ride and handling!
