Dear Ertiga Owners,

Can you please let me know your thoughts for my post no. 1987.
Buddy it your pick, which one to buy.
December 2013 seems to be good deal,if you have budget and time limitation go for it.

Other wise go with the new one 2014 model,You may get good deals near end of financial year.

Discounts vary from City to City and from one dealer to another dealer. The discount specified by Maruti is the minimum discounts dealers should give.
Today my dealer called to get my ratings for them. When I mentioned this to them they said no dealer in Bangalore is giving anything more than what Maruti is offering.

Somehow I feel like a fool for not negotiating harder. can anyone in bangalore who bought their in last month confirm if the the 3rd and 4th year warranty got waived off?

Hi guys, I am also buying Ertiga ZXI GRG color in Noida.. Good to see this thread and read quite a lot of it. I am worried about the maintenance of light color.. specially the floor. I read about floor lamination or full floor mat in darker color (grey may be).. I might also go for rear bumper guard.. Any one has any idea where in Noida or Delhi I can get it (floor mat and bumper guard) done. approximate cost of it.

Hi,

I have few questions regarding the way I drive that I want to clarify

To save on petrol, I used to do the following things with my versa and I can say that I always managed to get more mileage than the official AARAI mileage What I want to know is whether repeating any of the following will negatively affect my Ertiga:

(1) Filling up air 2-3 PSI more than recommended. In my versa I used to fill it up till 35-36 PSI vs recommended 30-32..it sure made the car very bouncy
(2) To reduce using the clutch frequently..I used to go from first gear to third gear to fifth gear avoiding second and fourth gears
(3) if it was a scientifically designed speed breaker/hump, I used to take it at 4th or 5th gear....since speed was low..the car used to struggle the first 5-10 seconds before it could reach 40-50 kmph once again after crossing the hump
(4) I change gears very early, using 5th gear for as low as 40kmph

I know using all of the above boosted my fuel efficiency, but not sure if I screwed up the car. Do not want to repeat the same to my Ertiga if its harmful to it. Thx

Beware of this practice. Air pressure increases in heat. So if you fill 35-36 it may increase to 40+ on continuous run. It may lead to tyre burst.

Regarding the Air Pressure during the 2nd Service the MAS recommended and filled 35 psi in front and 32 psi in rear wheels which are higher than the recommended as per the Maruti Suzuki manual. I am Wondering if this is correct practice !!

NCR guys, need your suggestions on light colour floor. Where can I get lamination done, how much will it cost. In fact I am even thinking to have another layer of full floor mat with grey colour instead of lamination. Any suggestion ?? My car will be delivered sometime end of this week in Noida [:D]

Guys - my LUV waited for an year for a dose of highway drive and finally it happened with elan. Drove from Noida to Haridwar/ Rajaji National Park - 4 adults and 3 kids. And it was such a breeze. I am not really a sedate driver, I prefer it to be ahead of the pack and my LUV met my expectations all the way. The roar of the engine at the press of the metal coupled with the pull was amazing and I remained ahead throughout the drive with no troubles in quick overtaking. Rajaji Park provided 36 kms of soft offroading and left me really amazed with its capabilities. Despite my constant push to the pedal, got an average of 20.8 kmpl. I can vouch no other Car/ MUV can deliver what Ertiga delivers. The comfort of space, the capacity to accomodate 6/7, the compact size with the ease of a hatch, the power to cruise and decent interiors - all make this car a very very strong competition to all other cars/ MUV/SUV/ Compact SUV within such a price point. Today if I have to chose an alternate option to this, I dont have any other. This is the best buy that I can suggest all others. Feel glad of chosing over Duster, Ecosport, Verna, Rapid, Vento and City.

I did read it somewhere that driving any vehicle at lower speeds at higher gears can result to "Engine Knocking", which effects engine's life and performance by great extent. Moreover driving at higher speeds was much safer and less damaging than driving at lower speeds at higher gears.

Agreeing 100%. Running a geared vehicle at higher gears at lower than optimum rpm, does more harm than good. For me, the optimum rpm for Ertiga is between 1700 to 2250 if one really looks for fuel saving. Even though you can upshift at 1500- 2000 rpm, that is good and useful for only 1st and 2nd gears as it helps in reducing unwanted noise, jerk and avoiding sudden turbo pull. Otherwise for 2+ gears, upshift the gears at ~2250 rpm which will make the next gear begin the rpm of 1700 range.

Driving in inappropriate gear not just affects gear box & engine, there is lot of stress on the clutch & turbo charger as well. I think there is an old school thought - to upshift quicker to get more mileage. Maintaining lower rpm could mean slightly better mileage, but at what cost is the question. Shifting around 2000 rpm is always better in my opinion.
