Received a SMS from dad on 16th that Ciaz has been sent for service and if additional work needs to be done,I should let him know. By the time I saw the SMS,it was 2 PM. I asked him as why was the car sent for service as the service is due next month for the 2nd year , even the ODO reading stands at 11k. He told he got a call from MASS to send the car as the vehicle is due for service and some monsoon camp is going on where engineers from Maruti would be supervising the work. They even sent a driver to pick up the car from home.
The car is sent back home around 6 PM and the final bill comes to 5700. I had told dad to inform SA that no additional work is required, only general service, the bill should have been 3500 as per Maruti app. Not convinced, I asked dad to whatspp me the bill and I see 3 unsolicited jobs were performed-wheel alignment, wheel balancing, rear brake drum something and brake master cylinder cleaning. Also, incorrect oil filter was used,K10 instead of K00. I immediately asked him to ask the SA to whatsapp the alignment and balancing details . The SA told that no such records are provided. I wanted to get a confirmation on the oil filter part no before confronting the SA, So I called up Nexa helpline,the executive told they don't have the details and asked to send a mail so that they can check and get back. I did so, and the response received was to contact the nearest MASS. This was the final nail on the coffin. I shot another mail to Nexa and maruti describing the incident. got a call from the AGM service of the service center around 9 PM. He told he received a complaint,but hasn't gone through.He wanted to speak to me to know the problem. My only question was do you provide a wheel alignment and balancing copy to customer,he told we definately do. I told him nothing was provided even after asking. He told he will get back next day after checking the service records.I recived another call around 10 PM from the SA and the service manager, as I could not receive,they texted that they need to speak to me. Next day they had come home around 8 AM,met dad and asked him to take back the complaint and they will get everything fixed.Initially they told that all the jobs were completed and an estimate was provided prior to completing the job. As per our approval the jobs were carried out. One more thing during this time they had told the final bill would be around 4500-5000 post some discount as per the freedom service camp.Not even a single ruppee discount was provided. Dad told he is unaware of all this and talk to me. They never called me but called up dad again to say sorry and all this will not happen in future. They literally accepted their mistake. Dad told if a complaint is raised,they need to respond to that in writing. The SA told if the complaint is not closed within 24 hours it will affect his job and all. So I asked dad to sign the form only after the oil filter is changed. As the oil filter was out of stock,dad signed the form. The SA and technician visted today and got the filter changed.
