LX
To start off the LX variant is the entry level variant which only comes with basic features and equipment. It has black bumpers, externally adjustable right hand side outside mirror, seats with integrated headrests, digital fuel gauge, odometer and trip meter. Air conditioner with heater is the only premium comfort feature in this variant as it even misses out the power steering.
LXi
Power steering go for the Lxi variant . Over LX in this variant will further get body colored bumpers, internally adjustable right side ORVM, tail gate opener and child-lock for rear doors. Maruti Suzuk has also decided to launch the CNG version of Alto K10 in the LXi variant only as it will keep the prices under check and it fulfills the basic requirements such as power steering and A.c.
VXi
Step up and the VXi variant which offers even more premium features such as 2-Din audio system with CD-MP3, USB compatibility and front two speakers. Also front two power windows, internally adjustable ORVMs on both sides, key off audible reminder, central locking, tachometer, accessory socket, driver's seat belt warning, digital clock, headlamp on warning buzzer, rear parcel tray and silver accents inside.

On the outside will be body colored door handles, full wheel covers and side molding. However the biggest USP of this variant remains the fact that it will be available with the Automated Manual Transmission which comes with a gear shift indicator.

VXi (o)

Additional premium safety features such as driver side airbag, keyless entry and front fog lights are also available on the range topping variant, VXi (0) which comes standard with all the features of VXi

In the AMT gearbox there is compromise on safety features as it's only available in the VXi variant and same is the case in the CNG version.

they could have come up with a better design and features. It doesn't even come under the term face-lift. Expectations were high from Maruti since the market is getting bigger day by day. Hope they come up with something new and better

Anyone who wished New Alto K10 to look better then old one might be in for surprise.
Today morning saw various new K10s being driven from stockyard to dealerships in the city. It looks much better then in pictures. Dark colors make it even more interesting, but it does look smaller in dark colors. Couldn't recognize variants but all of these cars had Wheel caps, body coloured handles & mirrors.

So looks like Maruti have started shipment well before launch and expect it to be a successful product once launched.

IMO, Exteriors looks are decent and I never expected a radical change in design from MSIL. They always play safe (except Swift) with no-offence design.

What surprised me is the interior quality which looks (in pics) better now. Color combination is spot on but the dashboard looks too much crowded ,similar to Etios/Liva.

What more features do you want in entry level small hatch? I feel, they are sufficient and are at par with market needs.

Buddies, Here I am once again, with 1st exclusive in and out review of the face-lift Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 which is a 1st on our forum TAI. This time, I made it a point to be extremely detailed in review (off-course to the best of my knowledge and available time).

This time I have reviewed the Face-lift Alto K10 Lxi with CNG and 5+1 manual transmission and Alto K10 Vxi with AMT and a small comparison with old pre-face-lift Maruti Alto.

As I am writing this review, Please note, I have been warned of consequences by my fiancee who is arriving today from Mumbai for an evening and I could not go to pick her up as foremost I had to cover this car.

So here is the 1st Look of the Face-lift Maruti Alto K10 Lxi CNG with manual transmission.



The front Grill: The chrome stripe on that some how does not gel this time.





The Head lamps: They are clear lense head lamps with a sharp design that gives the new ALTO K10 a neat look and the head lamp beam is also good.







The steering: The Vxi has Silver accents on the steering where as the Lxi has the single tone Black steering wheel. Though the steering is power assisted for ease of driving.





The Dashboard: The Vxi Alto K10 comes with integrated music system where as the Lxi Alto K10 is a no-frill variant and does not have a in-dash OEM music system.





The transmission: The Alto Lxi has 5+1 regular manual transmission where as the Alto Vxi has a AMT

The door panels: Both The new Lxi Alto K10 and the Vxi Alto K10 have dual tone door pads but Vxi trim uses Silver accents on them.





The engine: The same K10 engine is there in all Alto variants. Also, there is a pic of AMT gear box too.







The Tyre: The pre-face-lift Alto used 145 section tyre but the face-lift Alto k10 uses 155 section tyre which shall result in better ride quality. Neither Alto Lxi nor Alto Vxi have alloy rims.









The power window: The Alto Lxi does not have any power windows but Vxi trim has.







The boot space: Due to the CNG cylinder the Lxi trim looses out on boot space but Alto k10 Vxi has decent boot space.





The Fog lamps: Neither Alto K10 Lxi nor Vxi trim get OEM front fog lamps.



No Airbags or ABS is provided in Lxi and Vxi trim of new Alto K10. The top model shall have 1 driver side airbag only.

The rear mounted stop lamp: The Alto K10 Vxi gets a additional stop lamp.



The speedo-console





The IRVM: It has good viewing space with a single over head reading lamp.



The ORVM: They are not body colored and manually adjustable. LXi gets only right side ORVM.



No key-less entry in Lxi or Vxi Alto K10. The door handles are not body colored in both variants.





Air conditioner: Both variants of new Alto K10 have air conditioner as a standard.





The hand-brake is also well placed.



The foot paddles: The Lxi has 3 where as Vxi Alto K10 has just 2 due to AMT.



The Seats: This time the Alto K10 gets better fabric dual tone seats both in front and back with OEM seat belts for all passengers.





The rear exhaust: It has been well tucked in facing down wards.



The centrally placed wiper washer on the hood looks neat too.

Things I liked in the new Alto K10 Face-lift.

1) Black pillars for Vxi trim



2) Good new design door latch



3) Good ground clearance.



4) Good quality plastic for steering levers.



5) The Change over switch and head lamp leveler neatly placed.



6) Good Utility space with 12V socket



7) Piano-Black finish on the entertainment panel in the Vxi trim.



8) Good quality plastic used in overhead grips and door latch





9) The ribbed roof



Things I found lacking in new Alto K10

1) Poor quality wipers



2) No under hood cladding even in Vxi trim.



3) The glove box doesn't have the light.



4) No vanity mirror in sun shade.



5) Same old side indicators



6) Fuel cap design similar to Maruti Celerio.

The rear lighting of new Alto K10 face-lift: The tail lamps design is a mixture of Maruti Celerio and Alto 800.







A small comparison with pre-facelift Maruti Suzuki Alto: What I feel after seeing the previous generation Alto from Maruti Suzuki is that this face-lift has been launched with an aim of re-vamping the existing image of Alto. In this version, the interiors have by-far been a major surprise.

Good review bro! Great attempt and thanks!
But it could have been better if you could have avoided the "too- close up shots of certain parts" and also if the camera quality could have been better.
Coming back to the car, according to Akash's review, this K10 alto seems to be a mega blockbuster and stay at the 1st position in sales, since it offers an overall better quality package with the same DNA.

i still not understand why still maruti launching this bare basic Lx varient?Differnce with lxi is just 15K RS. in case who doesnt have this amount to spent or really conscious about VFM tag has already Alto 800 is there. why too many varients that too each at rs.15 K difference.
