@bsaketh- Thanks bro., Please start a new thread and do post some pics of the current status of the car as well as WIP pics. There are many members including me on this forum who will help you on restoation process.
One advice- Please choose a dedicated mechanic for the restoration otherwise he will spoil your car. Take your time, look at his finished works and then deciede whom to choose.
Glad to see another 800 being restored.

Thank you guys. The thing is my dad wants to sell the car for about 20k and buy another second hand Maruti 800 for about 30-40k which I am totally against because our car has a very good engine and believe it or not it ran for a year with low engine oil and no brake oil. So, Instead of selling it, I am pushing my dad to get the car repaired and have it fully restored. I'll show him this post also [:)]

Please dont sell your car. It will only fetch you only 20000-25000 which is totally not worth the sentiments attached to the car. Please convince your dad not to sell it rather rebuild it.

So, I finally got the go-ahead from my dad to restore the car [clap] but I can only do it in October as I am busy till then !

Guys, I need your help in estimating the cost/ finding spares etc. The things (repairs) I'd like to do are:

1) There is a weird sound that comes from the steering while turning (like tuk tuk tuk). Don't know where that is coming from.
2) Car does'nt start anymore even with a new battery but I guess we can deal with this.
3) Full body Re-painting
4) New bumpers, interiors (door handles, seats etc), tyres

I am not sure what else to do. Any help from you guys would be much appreciated. [:)]

Congratulations bsaketh. October isnt far now, dont worry.
Regarding the tuk tuk sound while turning its suerly the drive shafts. Regarding its cost, if you will go for MGP its (approx) Rs2450 and Rs 2750 (Left and Right) and if you go for delphi (I am using it in my 800) it will cost you Rs 1550 and Rs 1550.
Regarding starting problem- Pour some amount of petrol in the carb, and then try to start. Also check for proper fuel supply and clean the spark plugs.
Also check the distributor and ignition coil.
Start a new thread and post plenty of pics so that we can see in detail what all works are required.

I got it locally from a car accessory cum spare part shop which dealt with Delphi.
Regarding the quality, those drive shafts are performing well without any problems till now.[clap]
Lets see how it goes.[;)]

Great to hear that your drive shaft lasted for one lakh km. Thats the longest i have heared till date.[clap].
Why arent you changing both at once?
I suppose changing both at the same time is the best practise.
Actually the car is in ranchi and the spare parts were also bought from ranchi itself.
No idea about dealers in bangalore. Bangaloreans might help you out.

I had changed the right one some time ago, in Bangalore they are asking 2300 rs for one drive shaft. So it would be better to go with MGP cost difference of 400 rs.
