Err, I cant even say I didnt think about it , i actually gave this feedback to M&M.
How could i not explore this option, thanks a lot Sir.

While tabs are available plenty - can you please point me to a car tab holder which includes a charging point - knowing you i am sure you might have discount codes too
look for something like this

for ebay coupons check your inbox every thursday [;)]

if you find something better on shopclues, and you want a coupon for buying, then i would suggest a small recharge of rs 10 from paytm and choose some coupons while checkout.

Crossed 33k last week and the XUV feels smoother than ever !Its also been nearly 5k on the "George Bushes" and surprisingly this one has held on well.

Some pictures from my usual weekend mickey mouse off road :-

Hmm.....maybe Mahindra have removed the George Bushes to bring the GC to 160mm. What say?

The lowering of GC is because of the stone guard. in the previous version it was made of plastic and hence not taken into account while calculating the GC now they must have changed it to metal thereby "lowering" the GC by 40mm and excise duty by 3%.

a question IR , has your XUV bottomed on the potholes?

i have observed, that the engine is seen very close to hitting the ground when it moves along the crater like potholes.

maybe its my eyes playing tricks, but since you get to see the bottom view of your dark knight in the service centre more often, thought you would be the best person to answer.

Its a good question actually, I have been watching the XUV suspension behavior for a long while now and experimenting with tyre pressure - but that's for a different day.

The most easily hittable part of the XUV is the front skid plates , the engine is well above it - i have taken the XUV many times at places its really not meant to go, have had bolts scrapped off from the skid plates but that's the maximum really - the engine is far too high and to be causing damage to it you got to be really going well beyond the realms of a softroader.

The front skid plate however is very easy to hit, ex:- coming down a slope if there is a big speed breaker or hump and you brake just in advance, the front suspension compression then brings the skid plates to hit the hump - hence essential not to be speeding too much in such cases as the skid plates can be easily ripped off. The maximum damage i have had is scraped skid plates with boltings lost and broken mud flaps. May be someday ill simply remove the black cladding that runs under the front fog lamps and put in a custom skid plate.

yeah actually we dont see the engine exposed at the bottom , just the front skid plates which for some might make them apprehensive for the car bottoming out.

Nice pics IR.

One question, I read you writing few times that you have taken Civic to farm as well. So did you make Civic go through these painful roads being so cruel?

Yes indeed it does feel a little cruel to take the civic to farm - but its a toughie to be honest. However I dont take it in rains at all - that would be too cruel. Even the XUV has to be inch perfect - a few inches aside and i will be stuck for sure(it has happened).
Also my brazenness is due to the fact that I know there is a tractor available for rescue should anything happen.

Btw here is the picture of the trip meter post the software update - it indeed works! I understand there is another update for maps(MapMyIndia) which Mahindra is providing free of cost - will get it at the next chance.

Also a tip for XUV owners I am sure all of you would be using the Auto Wipe mode in rains - you can adjust the speed of it/sensitivity using the knob in the same stalk - For Mumbai/Pune rains I keep it one short of the full speed setting - serves me well.

@ Iron Rock: If Mahindra has indeed put a metal skid plate instead of the present plastic one in order to reduce the ground clearance, I wonder what the result would be? Broken plastic could be replaced but the sound of metal hitting against tarmac and rocks and then getting bent....ouch!

if we asked all men in TAI we will all unequivocally agree to whats the worst physical pain we feel and when(without going in to the details) - i think the metal crunching would sound similar to an automotive enthusiast
