Mr. Goenka himself giving a message that too via FB - surprising really! Also confirms the TSB i had talked of last week. Bold move indeed! I would love to see the confirmation of the same from a recent 2013 owner(hopefully via an ownership review)

Thanks Mukesh for sharing this wonderful article, Mahindra has indeed come a long way in every aspect of automobile making. such moves will only help customers get more confidence on the company and it's products.
I hope they show similar level of dedication to Thar as well.

Mahindra Recalls XUV's made in 2011 and 2012

Mahindra has issued a recall for a particular batch of XUV500s manufactured between 2011 and 2012, for replacement of parts in compliance with the voluntary code on vehicle recall.

All XUV500s that have been recalled will have their front power window units, along with the fluid hose and the left wiper blade cover replaced with new, improved units which are now fitted to the current batch of XUVs as well.

All replacements shall be carried out by Mahindra free of charge, and all concerned customers shall be individually contacted by the company.

@singh890.

As per one of my XUV friends, this thing is for the pre-OCT 2012 models. The main thing is the fluid hose. To be more precise, Power steering High Pressure fluid hose. Just check yours or get it changed, if pre-oct 2012 model.

Re: Tata Safari Storme Road Test Drive Review

Tweet from Anand Mahindra : recalling all XUV500 sold in 2011 and 2012. Need to say anything that XUV is free from niggle? does that mean its not a good product?

Thanks for the concern buddy and i did check on the website today but our XUV is not in the list as it is October manufactured.
Rest will get the XUV checked on its first service which should be end of this month or in the beginning of next month.

How you doing buddy? How's your Storme treating you.
Just to let you know actually not all the XUV's are recalled. They are recalled from some specific batches. Our XUV is 2012 Oct but not in the recall list.

Like we spoke today . I would suggest you and all xuv owners of our forum to just write down the smallest to biggest niggle reported in web world and all forums and get it checked thoroughly as a preventive measure rather then just relying on some batch kind of info .

Their is no harm in checking all issues reported by various owners in your own respective cars .

If by chance there is some issue they will change it and if everything is fine then there will be a peace of mind .

Also make sure if they change some part the warranty on that part start from the date of the part replaced and not from the date the car was purchased .

+100 to that. And i also think that all the XUV owners should report even a minor niggle they come across which in turn will help or make other owners aware of the same. There is nothing bad to report a niggle in your car.
Coz a niggle does not mean that the car is BAD.

And yes i will make a list of all the niggles reported and get those things checked thoroughly on the first service which is around the corner.

And talking about niggles i have one to report from our DRACO. And it's the famous grinding noise while using the brakes but it is not effecting my braking ability. And sound comes only upto speed of 50 kms. And actually it's more of ghir ghir kinda thing that you feel more than the sound.

So i did go to the dealership and told them about the noise and this was my first dealership exp. which was really good and i was happy by the service provided.

I was told that our XUV has the old pads and new batch of pads was out in December. So the SA asked if i wanted to drop my car but i refused since i had to be somewhere. Then he asked me if i want someone to pick and drop my XUV next day.

I told him that i will get it done on our first service which should be in next 2 weeks.

Besides that i have nothing else to report.
