But the matte is extrmeely difficult to maintain , and given our Indian conditions it will make it even more pain .
I understand that, but if bike manufacturer can provide that option in our country then why can't car manufacturer think of it.

Visran, if I am not wrong it is simple, that the painted area is very less on bike than a car, so maintenance will be a problem I hope[surprise]

Here anybody staying in Mumbai must really visit the infinity auto links dadar showroom . The staff is really nice and courteous , specially SA abhishek , very nice polite , eager to help and kind guy .

Since I had some time to spend they even cleaned by car ( not mahindra ) inside out . And service was top notch .

If I book a xuv I will for sure book from them .

Mahindra retrofits updated brake pedal, pads for the XUV500

Mahindra has started retrofitting a new brake pedal with an improved design for better and earlier bite. Mahindra is also reportedly replacing the old brake pads with ones with better grade from Bosch.
Though it remains unverified, it is expected that the new XUV500′s that leave the assembly line now are equipped with the improved brakes.

If possible will visit Nagpur showroom with XUV to see about this brake stuff.
And most likely, if I find W6 in Nagpur, I will put some pics of W8 & W6 side buy side.

Re: Mahindra – The Story of “Rise”.

Message from Dr. Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra

Some of you will remember my post on 18 January 2012 explaining the rational of our XUV500 booking process. More than a year has passed since then and the XUV500 has proven itself to be perhaps the most successful launch in the SUV segment in recent times. So first let me convey a big ‘Thank You’ to all of you who purchased an XUV500, to all who have influenced its purchase and many of you who are just XUV500 fans.

By now we have removed the initial constraints related to production volume and have ramped up capacity to a level that matches the demand (including the AWD variant) and so…no more long wait to own an XUV500.

Today, we have over 55,000 XUV500’s on the road which have clocked over 450 million km cumulatively by our estimates. We have been humbled by the unequivocal positive feedback on the delight of owning and driving this vehicle. This, not only gives us the confidence to take the world in our stride but also the humility to improve for a better experience for our customers tomorrow.

To this end we at Mahindra are indebted to all our XUV500 customers for giving us valuable inputs on the product as well as service experience. Even after rigorous testing and adopting best in class manufacturing processes, few issues did escape our scrutiny and ended up in our customer vehicles. Here, I must admit that Mahindra is on a learning curve and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience our customers have had because of this.

We have taken feedback from our customers and industry experts very seriously. Our teams have worked tirelessly on the root cause of every field problem even if it happened only in one out of the 55,000 vehicles sold so far. We can now confidently say that the XUV500 is almost trouble free. I say almost, because 100% perfection is ever evolving and an ongoing process.

Over the years, the Indian Automotive Industry has matured towards adopting global practices in the fields of product technology, manufacturing and quality processes. Mahindra is proud to have been a part of this journey. And today, we are taking yet another step in pursuit of our mission of being customer-centric in all that we do.

We have decided to call back few of the XUV500s to fix three concerns which warrant replacement of parts as a preventive measure. These parts are a fluid hose, front power window units and left wiper blade cover. We have now made the design more robust and decided to replace the old parts with the new parts to further give confidence to our customers that Mahindra is “With you Hamesha”. Details of the service action are on our website Service - Action and customers will receive a notice to bring their vehicle to the service center to replace these parts. The improved design is already introduced in the new production vehicles.

I once again thank you for making XUV500 one of the most successful vehicle launches in recent times. As always we look forward to your continued support and feedback for improving our products and services. Your continued encouragement is what keeps driving us forward.

With best regards,
Pawan Goenka
