# compared to innova, top end XUV (W8 2WD) is cheaper than Innova VX even with all those features!

# compared to Aria, XUV W8 2WD is cheaper to Aria top end 2WD by 2 lacs & XUV W8 4WD is cheaper to Aria AWD top end by an astounding 4 lacs!!!

How much for the top end ?see, in most vehicles, the top-end fully loaded ones are the cream ones to pick (other than mercs,audis,bmw kind of cars) where all the features are the same with engine differences across with variants and yeah of course interior trims ( such as base will have totally basic, mid will have little better and and top-end will have customised colour-coded nappa leather and customised alloys and and so on and on).

One thing what’s sure is that some (or in fact many) of the potential buyers of Tata Aria will be now attracted towards XUV as long as they are comfortable with its looks, which in my opinion they should be because it’s not a huge disaster either.

This launch should be a word of caution for Tata Motors to competitively price their Merlin. That is, around the Scorpio range.

No. I don’t think so. At least base / mid variants of Innova (which are most popular) should stay unaffected.

Yes. High chances of that. Prospective Scorpio top-end buyers might soon convert into XUV5OO buyers but what remains to be seen is until when? The future depends on the price hike that XUV will go through.

Even the top-of-the line W8 AWD variant is also priced quite competitively at Rs.12.88 Lakhs.

ACI review is up and it is in expected lines, great VFM product but does not excel in quality department:

1. it has a monocoque chassis and not traditional ladder frame. So serious off roading won't be its forte.

2. Interiors are spacious but lacks in quality.

3.Same engine that of Scorpio in a different tune, but reduced weight (due to monocoque chassis) improves performance & efficiency.

4.Lot of fussy detailing all over the car.

So its unlike Aria where TML made a considerable jump as far as quality is concerned (with higher price tag of course). its more line with M&M strong points: VFM & durable product

True. Tata Motors seems to have put in full efforts to maintain the quality standard in Aria. However, Mahindra has also kept in check the pricing factor which was very important, that’s why the quality is compromised to an extent (if reviews are to be believed). But I would love to experience this car in person.

M&M will begin bookings for the XUV 500 in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Pune on Saturday. It will be rolled out across the country in 6-9 months.

you missed one point that in the ARIA you can move the middle seat forward and make decent space in the third row, i am 5'8" and i felt quite all right sitting in ARIA'S last row for a 2 hour journey,also ARIA has cracking boot space even when all 7 seats are occupied in comparison to XUV's non existent boot when all 3 rows are occupied by people.

Aria eating dust is a far fetched dream my friend, it looks a whole lot better than xuv , has better materials inside,better ride,better space, better handling, and what not.just because xuv is cheap doesn't makes it better than Aria. by the way when scorpio arrived people said similar things about safari, but it still sells mate and so will aria albeit a little less thanks to xuv's machoness, low price and cause its a mahindra.
