Re: Mahindra XUV500 Facelift (2018) Spied

I am actually looking forward to check out the display area of Mahindra and Mahindra at the Expo 2018. Maybe we might get to see the upcoming new Mahindra XUV along with the other planned launches. This time even though there might be lesser OEMs in Expo but honestly, it would help us to check each vehicle there in detail.

Found Few new Information, Pics & a video on Internet about upcoming XUV5OO Facelift 2018.

Looking at below pic Mahindra is changing headlamp cluster with DRL this time. At last DRL came in Mahindra's Premium SUV.

Also Got one video on youtube where one enthusiast captured video of XUV5OO 2018 Facelift, Tivoli which will be XUV3OO as per reports & U321, Mahindra's answer to Innova Crysta. This video clearly shows XUV5OO will get new front facia with New DRL & headlamp assembly.

Found three quality photos on Carblogindia site taken from the video shared in earlier post. New DRL's are properly shown in these photos & they are good looking. As per that video there were two test mules, one with New DRL & front look where other one has new grille but current generation front look.

thanks IR.
Which state is the Birdie following from?
150HP is very mild upgrade. Perhaps they do not want to cannabalize the sales of Sangyong XUV700 (185HP I think) hence have kept it under tuned. Because petes has been offering 170HP remaps since quite a while.

Better brakes and better interiors are welcome.

^^ From the HQ - lets just say horses mouth!

Pete's has stopped doing any XUV remaps for a long while now. Yes you are right though , product positioning, i dont think power was ever an issue in the xuv owners mind anyways!

Thanks for the information about expected launch date of XUV5OO 2018 Facelift. I was about to ask this on this forum.

Hope Mahindra actually add -
  • Front DRL(finally) and new grille
  • Premium Leather interior including dashboard leather
  • Rear Tailgate new design
  • New alloys (including a 18 inch option)
  • Better brakes

150Bhp mHAWK was expected as 170Bhp engine for XUV5OO will definitely go against Rexton G4 OR whatever Mahindra will call it.

Eagerly Waiting for some clear spy pics on TAI.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 Facelift (2018) Spied

Mahindra has announced that the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 facelift will be launched next month. The most prominent change in this refresh will be the addition of a more powerful iteration of its current AVL-developed 2.2 litre diesel motor. This will produce around 172PS of power, up from the 140PS that the present car produces. In terms of exterior design, the new SUV will come with a reworked front bumper and grille while the headlights will receive LED daytime running lights. The rear will also receive a new bumper with new LED elements being added to the re-profiled taillights. Further, a new alloy wheel design and body cladding will also be added. Changes to the interior will include an upgraded infotainment system with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay integration, an 'Ecoscore' calculator, connected apps and an emergency calling function.

Really? This is what Mahindra wanted to launch as successor of Current Generation XUV500? Mahindra really need to fire these silly designer's. I guess they want to move interest to Rexton G4/XUV7OO OR whatever Mahindra will call it so they destroyed their best seller between 11-20 Lacs segment.

That's hideous!
I found upcoming Rexton at Auto Expo2018 to be ugly too.

I'm already disappointed with the ongoing craze for poor designs, 3-pot engines, puny tyres, thin seats, unreal pricing and fake extended wait-periods; and such a treatment to XUV has convinced me that I need not throw my money on them any soon.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 Facelift (2018) Spied

The front grill looks OK-ish and I feel it would pass-off in real. Thankfully the front hasn't been re-worked a lot. Coming to the rear, the tail light cluster and the extensions are bland in my opinion. I liked the tail lamps of the out-going one. Yet, I believe the performance would be the one thing to look out for. Having seen the Impact 2.0 Design language and forthcoming TML Cars & SUV(s), I had my hopes on M&M too thinking they'll also pleasantly surprise us. By far, Impact Design 2.0 has no parallel so far in upcoming mass-market SUV designs. Honestly, the re-branded Ssangyong SUV too wasn't as much of a looker in real. Where has Pininfarina gone? M&M had a great opportunity this time to bring in an all new XUV-5OO but from the external looks I feel there is much left to be desired.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 Facelift (2018) Spied

I cant believe what Mahindra is doing. Seems they are on way to kill the cheetah. The front was bad when i first saw the pic then when i saw the rear, i felt front was good. Man M&M have pinninfarina italian design house why are they not using it? obviously this will not mean death for the car as there will be many lining up for this car. the XUV brand is too strong to be blown away by hideous design. First it was innova crysta and now this XUV.

Probably i feel i am the one who have no sense for design. :stupid:
