Just to ensure that proper service is provided and you come out trouble free within 1 visit.

If the problem is not fixed in one go, they will make you visit several times.

And i hope one guy would have visited your home to give a demo about the car.

Congratulations on the new ICE setup Amit. Can you post a picture of the HU now after completion? Does the HU fit perfectly or are there any panel gaps?

And about the gears being a bit hard , yes wait for 1k KMS they will definitely become smoother as the car runs more. But don't expect butter smooth shift like in your Hyundai!

Hi folks,

So I visited the dealer service station today for getting the steering wobbling issue fixed and to my surprise it turned out to be a case of Wheel Alignment and Balancing - in a new vehicle .. I'm really surprised and disappointed by Mahindra now. I mean I never expected to have this problem in a NEW VEHICLE. Anyway so I contacted the Mahindra CC and they sent me to the Service station and the service station incharge attended me and got his 2 guys on the job straight away. I showed them the problem of pulling left and steering wheel wobbling and they agreed on both the issues.

I had to then leave the vehicle with them and was told that it might take 3-4 hours for it. At 6pm I went back to the service station to collect the vehicle and the problem was still not rectified but they were working on it. So after a few rounds of alignment/balancing etc and couple of test drives, they managed to fix the "left pulling" problem and now the car is fine.. but the wobbling is still there at speeds of more than 80km. I have been asked to leave the vehicle again for a day so they can work on the steering wheel wobbling problem.

Now I need some suggestions and advise here

- Is this problem a minor or a major one? I mean do you think this is something I should create a fuss about and escalate to seniors at M&M or let them work it out? as they have been trying today.

- Do you think the tyres could be bad? as they said that if nothing works they will look at replacing the tyres itself and will call the Apollo folks to take the suggestion on this?

- What else could be the solution to the problem? any ideas ? though they are trying but maybe if we can provide some expert ideas if that helps?

- as the problem is on higher speeds, should I drive the vehicle at lower speeds till the time they fix it or not?

- Any other suggestions you have to get this fixed ASAP. I don't want to spend days-and-days in their workshop.

Appreciate your views..

Really disappointed today 'coz of this issue.

Regards,
Amit

@Amit: Having an experience on all these with Sireesh i suggested you to drop a mail to Customer care.
The Alignment will be correct with the OEM tyres, that comes as factory fitted.
Since you got it swapped with Hawkz, they haven't made the correct alignment.

This is a minor problem.

I would any day suggest you to go with SKS Auto.

The after sales service with Sireesh is very bad.

Mukesh, I did speak to the Customer Care they only connected me to Sireesh to take this further. Regarding ASS of Sireesh, lets see how it goes in this attempt and then I will take it to SKS if not done properly or speak to some seniors at M&M to get this fixed ASAP.

Also even if I got the tyres swapped as JK's were not something they promised, I expect them to do all these pre-checks and then only deliver the vehicle.. which apparently didn't happen. As per Sireesh, they said the PDI was done and since they did not check the vehicle at high speeds of 90+ the tyre wobbling issues did not appear. Since I tried the vehicle at 80/85 +/- I felt that and reported.. and they agreed to fix it. So let's see how it goes..

Yes this is what happens usually.
The complaint reported to CC will be redirected to the dealer.
Atleast M&M is aware of your issue, and they will have to resolve this issue, within a stipulated time.

I had this issue when the tyre rotation was done, the steering used to wobble above 110 kmph.
It was solved very well in SKS.
Hope you come out trouble free this time, or another option SKS is there.
Tomorrow dropping my vehicle at SKS for its 6th Service.

Mukesh, one specific question for you.. guess you've bought the vehicle from Sireesh and we give it for servicing at SKS, do you know if they do a good job? I mean is there a selfish motive they have that if the vehicle is bought from another dealer, they do a so so job. I faced this with Hyundai as I bought my vehicle form Advaith and whenever I got it serviced from Trident, I wasn't happy.

Even i was not aware that i can drop my vehicle for service at SKS, until they solved my ABS problem.
I first visited SKS to get the wiper blades changed, and was analysing their service level.
Later found them more knowledgeable than sireesh.
I deliberately told CC to direct me to SKS and not to Sireesh.
Which they did and i am happy with SKS.
And there is no such motive with SKS, they are
doing their job, irrespective of where you have purchased the vehicle.
And i am a Happy customer from then on.

So folks,

Here is an update on my Hawk. The wobbling and left pulling problem is fixed and its running fine now. I had to leave the vehicle at dealer's place for one full day and they finally fixed it. I hope I wont face any further problems with the machine :) Though I haven't driven beyond 100.. but dealer told me they tested till 130kmph and there's no wobbling.

Now I have few things to be taken care of

1 - Seat covers - looking for a good make and finish in cloth or mix of leather + cloth
2 - Bull Bar - do you folks recommend Hiker?

Also as some of you had asked for, here are the pics of ICE after installation. Sorry for bad picture quality as taken with BB. Will post more later..

Happy driving.

Amit

This is a personal pick. This thread might prove out to be of some help: http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...s/437-seat-covers-options.html?highlight=seat

2 - Bull Bar - do you folks recommend Hiker?
I would not recommend installing a bull bar at all for certain safety concerns. Please visit this thread for complete discussion on same: http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/accessories-spare-parts/1741-front-bull-bars-yes-no.html

The HU is killer.
One word of caution to you, dont use ambipur as car freshner.
If it spills it will corrode the surrounding plastics.

One day for fixing the wobbling, they have taken more time.[surprise]
