August 15th 1000 hrs.
The chennai team and bangalore team have met and we have a real good number of people here with us. A total of 8 cars. We are done with our breakfast at Sharavana Bhavan and getting ready to roll out to Amirthi.

Really it was great with 18 friends on 8 cars. It was really looks like just now we finished a race trip.

We have successfully completed our TAI meet.
Really enjoyed a lot.
My sincere thanks who are all participated in the meet. I really had a wonderful day with you guys.

Chennai - Bangalore - Intercity meet - on 15th August 2012.
Planning
Just a background for new friends - Actually I had initiated for Chennai meet on 20th July 2012 but somewhere outer in Chennai keeping 15th August 2012 in mind thinking that most of the people might have holiday being that is National holiday and everyone will be able to accommodate/adjust their dates.
When we finalized the 3 places that is somewhere near Vellore, it was turned to Chennai - Bangalore Intercity meet. I thought it will give lot of opportunity for members of different cities to meet. Till now all meets were happening inside a specific city or among with specific city members.
Actually the response was very good. Lot of people showed interest for the meet from both Chennai and Bangalore.
There were lot of discussions about the meet, location, meeting point and food. Finally Amrithi forest was decided as destination.
Meeting at source and destination
Then it was finally decided that Chennai team will meet at Koyambedu and start around 7am towards Vellore having 9am as target time to reach Vellore. The same way Bangalore team will meet at silk board around 5.45am and reach Vellore around 9am and two teams will meet
Breakfast and Lunch
It was decided that after the two team meets in Vellore we will proceed first for breakfast at saravana bhavan and proceed to Amrithi forest.
Since there may not be proper hotels available [ based on Mr. Appu’s information ] it was decided to bring home made food. Sethu to bring chapathis and Mr. Appu to bring Veg Biriyani.
No of members and cars
Even though there were lot of people shown interest for the meet from both chennai and bangalore, lot of people were not be able to make it due to various previous commitments or sudden commitments. Till the last but one day, that is 13th Augu 2012 there were only 2 cars with 4 persons from bangalore and 6 persons with two cars from chennai was confirmed list.
But on 14th there were lot of confirmations and lot of last miniute entries from chennai. Mr. Dhaya and Mr. Appu played major roll in pulling lot of members.
And Mr. Prem who was very much enthusiastic till 30th July was not seen in the forum till 14th aug 2012. Suddenly I got a call from him on 14th evening and he was sorry for not to be in forum because of his office related work. And the good thing was he confirmed presence in meet.
On 15th August 2012.
Mr. Appu left chennai and reached vellore on 14th itself for arranding things and provding a red carpet welcome to both the teams since Vellore is home town.
I woke up around 4.45am and planned to clean/wash my car. Alais. Unfortunately there were no power. Since we are having invertor we did not know that there is no power. When I went to the parking I found no lights, no water cos of no motor. Some how I have managed to carry water from home and washed the water in the available light.
And I left home with my son and daughter in my sparky [ My wife opted to stay back since no one was with family] around 6.20 and met Mr. Prem and his friends [Vijay and Arun] in his WV Vento at AXIS bank next to Koyambedu signal. We had small introduction [since we both are meeting for first time, for that matter most of the members were meeting others for the first time] and left to Motel highway to meet mr. Dhaya.
After we reached Motel highway, we spoke with Mr. Dhaya and came to know he might be 10-15 mints late from the planned time which was 7am to 730am. So we decided to have some refreshment at Motel. So when we enter, My self and Mr. Prem first prefared for coffee and others went for pongal/idly. After seeing them we got tempted and we ordered some Sambar Vada and enjoyed the mini/pre breakfast around 7.30.
Mr. Dhaya and his friends, Mr. Surendar, Mr. Saravanan and Mr. Babu joined us in his WV Jetta. They also preferred to have some light refereshment and once they finished we left Motel highway around 8am.
We, three cars travelled in constant speed of 100-110 and reached vellore around 9.30am and welcomed by Mr. Appu and his friend. By that time Bangalore team had already reached [actually being it on highway which was really good for driving, they accidently crossed vellore] and waiting for us at Saravana bhavan.
We reached Saravana bhavan around 9.45am and met the bangalore team Mr. Varun [In his M800] and his friend, Mr. Karthik [in his M800] and his friend and Mr. Ajith kumar [In his Vista] . when we were having breakfast, Mr. Surendar [our member] also reached with his superb Verna.
I must give the list now.
From chennai
Sethu, Son and Daughter = 3 with Spark
Appu and his friend = 2 with Vista
Dhaya and his friends = 4 with Jetta
Prem and his friends = 3 with Vento
Surender Alone = 1 with his Verna
Totally 13 persons with 5 cars from chennai
From Bangalore
Mr. Varun and his friend = 2 with M800
Mr. Karthik and his friend = 2 with M800
Mr. Ajith alone = 1 with his Vista
Totally 5 with 3 cars from bangalore
Totally 18 with 8 cars –
It was amazing actually when all eight cars were rolled out on vellore road like a rally we can see people were staring/seeing us with lot of surprises. Some places people gave way for us during couple of turns. Particulars, at a traffic junction, police constable allowed 5 cars first and then seeing others he stopped all the traffic and let us go. We felt like VVIP at vellore today.
From vellore after breakfast we had a small pit-stop near by Appu’s place for giving him time to collect the lunch. After that we left to Amriti forest. We had n number of photo shoots on the way. It was two way road for 15 Kms then for a stretch of 15 KMs it was single road zapped thru paddy fiedds and plantain gardens.
When we reached Amirthi forest everyone was hungry and we decided directly go for lunch. Now the surprise, the chapathis which I got was not sufficient. Actually based on previous day final list I had prepared some numbers. But since the numbers were more [iam not complaining please] it was not sufficient. Then luckily Veg biriyani from Appu’s house helps us and it was really good with the Pottato side dish. I got some paper plates and Paper cups and people started servicing themselves and enjoyed the food.
After lunch we wanted to go inside the falls. But we got info that there is no water. And everyone, especially Bangalore friends were very tired because of climate. So we decided to skip the falls and went inside the small zoo and had some time spent there. We took group snaps there.
From there when we returned back to the parking and found lot of our other friends [Monkeys] were waiting in our cars. Then they left andwe started back around 3 pm.
Bangalore friends bid goodbye there itself since if it gets late they may get stuck up in bagalore traffic.
We all left to Vellore, on the way we found a very good place for photo shoot. We have formed our cars in such a way that it looks like TAI and took snaps.
After that Mr. Surendar also left towards pondy on the way. We four cars, Myself, Appu, Dhaya and Prem reached Vellore for a coffee break.
From there we left around 5.45 after bidding goodbye to Mr.Appu and thanking him for the efforts he had put and reached chennai aroun 8pm. On the enterance Mr. Dhaya and his friends parted us and Myself and Prem proceeded towards Koyambedu.
At Koyambedu we parted and reached home and prem and his friends headed towards Velachery.
If there are any mistakes or i have missed anything hope other members covers it up.
Other members pls write from your angle also. It will be really good to see different versions.
