Hi,

You have more options for 175/65 R14 size tyre. I raised suppoert ticket to yokohama. One them called and asked about issue, i said no issues and asking for warranty, he told lets wait for company confirmation.

You get the tyre from local tyre shop near to your home/city.

I recently bought Yoko Earth 1 from Amazon (seller: Online Tyre Trade) but did not receive any warranty card. What was your quote from retailers for this size? Here in Coimbatore, retailers were asking between 4350 and 4600 and I bought for 3750 from Amazon ( + 1000 bucks to install at a local tyre shop). If ordering online, please send an email to seller and confirm MFG date of their stock before placing order.

I installed Yoko Earth1 165/70 R14 cost me 13000
With free alignment and balancing.
There is a mild increase in GC and car is in super control no black of confidence even if I push it to me 140kmph.

You pushed Xcent to 140? Or some other car? Whatever the car maybe, 140 is too scary to even try! Please be careful.

I also pushed 140 in my xcent 1.2 petrol s option with Apollo 3g maxx 165 65 R14

Hi All,

As you all know i changed 165 65 R14 to Yoko Earth1 185 60 R14. Last month gave/sold the tyres to my friend and got Yoko Earth1 175 65 R14 due to Mysore Hill Roads.

Xcent 1.2 with AC and 185 section tyres cries.

Hi DR,
you should also change the spare wheel tyre in case of emergency as oe size is 165 65 R14

I don't usually go beyond 100 that too on NH. I do it sometimes to hear the grunting sound of engine or out of enthusiasm only. I am a sedate driver and care for my car and FE. Bcos I am always with my family when driving on Highways.

QUICK UPDATE AFTER A LONG DELAY:

Just a quick update. Car odo stands @ 71k. It's been 7 years since I bought the car. June 24 2014 I had picked this car. Still runs like new except the minor rattles thanks to my harsh driving habit

Renewed Insurance with TATA AIG for 10.7k.

Scheduled service plan at next month as I serviced the car last year around July! Let's see whats the bill for 70k service!!

Car sees no usage thanks to pandemic which made me work from home.

ANOTHER UPDATE AFTER A LONG DELAY:

Hi guys, Came back after a long time for an update.

Insurance renewed at 7k. No B2B anymore.

Odo stands at 85k. Car went for 90k service. SA mentioned cost will be around 7-8k.

Repairs/Replacements needed:
  1. Clutch is bit hard and replaced it few years ago and might need to replace soon.
  2. All suspensions needed change (Cost estimation 35k)
  3. Tyre change required (20k?)
  4. Silencer got holes, thanks to my stupidity. Need replacement. (10k)
  5. Minor cosmetic fixes like broken indicator on right side ORVM etc.
Will try to fix them one by one as and when time permits.

Planning to get an used City soon for highway runs so any major expenses with Xcent need to be done after the purchase.

  1. Change the brake fluid in the clutch line also for proper functioning.
  2. Are you getting complete replacement or parts that are required?
  3. Depends on the requirements.
  4. For less cost, you can look at the silencer from accident/used car parts store

Thanks for your valuable inputs.

1. Sure will try out and update here.
2. As per SA, it will be complete replacement only. All 4 suspensions will be changed.
3. RL tyre is going bald and I suspect it has something to do with suspension and alignment.
4. Will try out second hand market and see if I can fine one.
