2 bars mean 50km before the light shows up, isn't it weird bazooka me you and allhyundai cars have/had the same issue. Ideally when cars are new the fe goes up with km clocked but here its going down with kms clocked.

is it possible to get a highway run and check?

was thinking of buying an obd2 scanner just to check the real life fe values but then i found out the mid gets the info from the ecu

Yes the ECU is mapped wrongly for performance and the car tuned for city driving wht sense does this make.

I dnt believe the FE will improve with more kms running in thru its a faulty setup that's the cause!

what I'm trying to get at, other cars improve on the fe as you clock in but here it goes down.

i think hyundai did not concentrate on city driving.

FE aside the car is good nick, I've have to try Speed this time arnd and see if it makes any diff.

So covered some 40 kms juat now. Speed was between 50-90 most of the time it was 60.

Changed the display to range and it dropped some 35 kms and fe increased to 9.4. Increase of just .2

Also now range says 60kms and I believe 1.5 bar is left. It shows 2 but have covered some dstance at bar 2 only.

just verify when you fill up, don't rely on mid, i can make my mid show 37km/l also.

Yep the Mid is not reliable, but it does shw Whts ur car performing like.
If its showing FE : 8.7 then ur real time FE is 8.0 average.
If its showing FE : 9.4 then ur real time is 9.0 kmpl.
If its showing FE : 11.2 then real time is 10.5 kmpl.

Basically higher the mid more chances of a good FE!

most guys don't follow manual calculations just the mid, hyundai may have thought since they cannot match up to the claim we will do this so our customers won't complain.

The MID is just a project of where the FE stands at. The inclination being a higher Mid value = higher realtime FE.

hmm , what you said seems right. this time will try bp. so have you checked with all the pumps ?

for me there are 2 bp pumps near by. one is behind my building its a coco pump but has only regular petrol there is plans to start premium in a few months. The other one is a private owned pump where i see lots of cars and fuel tankers filling up twice a day.

the regular from the one behind my house gives me 12.5 and is cheaper by 50p/litre
the regular form the private pump gives the same fe while the speed from the private pump gives 13-13.5

there is another pump into town the fe on speed there is same but i go there only for speed 97 which gives 2km/l more then the usual.

the SE has offered me another model called 1.6VTVT EX model with an addition of reverse camera and rest all features remains the same.hes charging me extra 20k for the same.what do you all think abt that?

you mean sx model? you also get electronically folded mirrors, auto night dimming rear view mirror and a passenger air bag.

the model is VTVT ...but apparently they have introduced a new model called EX which gives an additional reverse camera with a hike of 20k .an emblem of EX (like SX in others)would be stuck to the bumper for this one.
