Folks, I am waiting for delivery of my Verna Fluidic 1.6 CRDi SX Opt AT in about 10 days.

The stock tires are 195/55 R16. I'm feeling a bit greedy, so am considering Michelin 215/55 R16 97W (Primacy 3ST).

But since "55" is aspect ratio, increasing width from 195 to 215 (20 mm) would increase the diameter, and I could run the risk of the tires touching the car body?

Option 2 is Yokohama - AS01 - 205/50 - 16 87 W with specs 205/50 R16. This seems closer in gross diameter to 195/55 R16.

Another option is Michelin - Primacy LC - 205/55R16 (91W), which would be slightly higher in gross diameter, but I could use the extra GC if there is no risk of tires touching body.

Does anyone know of any 215/45 R16 or 215/50 R16 tires available in India that would fit the stock alloys on the SX (Opt) Verna without GC/body-touching problems?

I want the widest tires possible that would fit the stock alloys, please suggest!

Hi guys,
So recently I have bought 15 inch alloys ( MSW 23 ) and upgraded tires to Yokohama S drive 205/55/r15.

The major ISSUE is when there are 5 people sitting in a car and on a high speed if you jump on uneven floaty roads , the inner edge of the body gonna touch the tires which is scary.
Hmm so if 15 inchers at 205 touch the sides of the car, then would it be advisable to go in for 205/50/16R? I have an SX so wouldn't want to downsize.

Since orginal stock alloys are 6j , you can put 205/55 or 205/50 r16. As one of the member has put it in his car.
My alloy is 6.5j 15 inch and most 16 inch alloy starts from 7j which makes it difficult to put wider tires in this car.

Finally got a solution for tire touching the body and the bodyroll. Got this today for 2k for 2 pieces fitted at back springs . 4 people were sitting at back after installing it and there were still almost 1.5 inches or more gap between tire and arch of body. This is promising because with this much weight in car before , tire used to cross the arch and go inside the body and almost wanted to kiss the arch.

Its better then spacers in my opinion , as it doesnt damage anything and doesnt increases the height of car too much that makes your car look weirdo. And it comes in different sizes according to your needs.

About bodyroll , its 90% gone . definitely it doesnt feel like i was driving the same car The Rolling Verna. It does work and works too good.

Now the main point it how durable this item is. After using it for sometime i will review the item for its durabilty. but performancewise it's totally worth.
Not only for tire-body touching , but I would recommend it to those too with stock setups , who are tired of bodyroll and want to get rid of it. I guarantee you will like it.

Usually i dont like deep dish and multispokes alloy but your alloys looks cool and matches with body color.

@pradeep
3M car care people have some designs for stickers. You can check with them.

I got it done locally in some decal shop
Costed 2.5k
Don't remember the brand of the sticker though

I wanted 3M one
But wasn't available in my city
So got this done

Thanks Neil
I'm a lover of deep dish alloys
So got them
But next time
Il be going for concave type

Did you put spacers??
Can you post the current pic of the car so i can see how much space is left between tires and body.

Your solution is on this page itself. Get buffers.
Btw i liked this alloys.

It is the only solution until you want to spend 1 lakh for aftermarket suspension.
Tires are not touching body with 5 ppl in car now.
Get it before you damages your tires. At least as a temporary solution or i can see those marks in pic that you already started damaging tires.
Your alloy is 16 inch and they are usually 7j which is wider. Mine is 15 inch 6.5j and same tire profile as yours still it was touching at the outer edge of tires.

Get b4 size in buffers. It will fit.
