Oh boy! Now the black verna is shinning like a mirror! Awesome[clap]. But do we need to clay to such a new car? Won't it affect the clear coat?

For new cars and cars with low contaminants, use a fine grade clay. Use lots of clay lube and move the clay bar lightly.
Claying provides for a better bonding surface.

Beautiful Car there mate. Congratulations.
Those wheels are looking really well on black color.
Hmm are you getting metal grinding noice even on applying little pressure on brakes? [I have no idea whether its ABS as I have never tested it on my ride yet[roll]]
That thud noise ahh, even I am fraustrated of that as thats the only thing I can hear from an otherwise great car. No GC problem for me. [Mine comes from front most of the times]
Solution: Drive it really slowly like a sedan over potholes and those mini mountains[lol]

Thanks Midknight. There is no grinding noise on slight braking. Have those disc brakes cleaned using high pressure water. There is a normal repeating noise of the ABS if you apply the brakes really hard at higher speeds( > 30-40kmph).
Same here. No GC problems but the front suspension noise is only bad issue.

i too get the same grinding noise while applying brakes but itdoes not come always [sleep]
My guess : If there is grinding noise even when you apply the brakes lightly, then one of the front wheels is not in contact with the ground. This is another outcome of ABS.
Try this out once and then lets see. [;)]

Hmm well I have heard that when ABS works one feels vibrations on brake pedal, then again I havent had a chance to test it,will do so when I find a nice empty stretch [;)]
If it comes even on slight pressure then there might be some debris/uneven wear and tear of brake pad.
Btw I noticed that you use collinite 845 for your ride,I was wondering if you could explain the applying methodology used by you when time permits, also which clay bar you use? I always wanted to try that product but due to no prior knowledge of DIY never tried it.

@Myth - Your car looks great in black color. Congrats on the Verna. Looks like you have done an excellent job in cleaning the car.
Thanks venky.
Try to keep a black car clean is a headache but I love the results.

Collinite 845 is a hybrid wax/sealant. I used a Duragloss Foam Pad with 3-4 drops per panel to apply it. Once it hazes(turns whitish) in 3-4 minutes, I wiped it off with a Eurow Premium Microfiber towel.
This Collinite 845 bottle is expected to last almost 2 years. Always apply C845 as thin as possible.

Clay is used to remove impurities/decontaminants from the paint clear coat. This provides a better bonding surface for the sealant. I used a synthetic clay bar Opti-Eraser. Claying is done 1-2 times a year.

Based on their requirements, everybody has their own way of cleaning the car. With advice from others, I chose the above items because they suit my current purpose. There are hundreds of other products to use with varying prices and output. Choose as per your needs. Let me know if you have any doubts.

Thanks for the details mate.
I was hesitant to use it till now but now will order it.
You are right there are hundreds and I had shortlisted collinite and duragloss but I think collinite would suffice for me as an noob.
As for clay I guess I will skip it for now as I am not yet comfortable [lol]

Anything for interiors? And art leather seat covers? I see a few black spots on drives seat now.

Yes, you can skip the clay. You could use kerosene or diesel to rub off stubborn contamination on the surface.

For interiors, try the Meguiar's Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner. I havent used it as of now, but this was recommended to me for interior cleaning.

There is nothing new to update actually. The weather here is terrible and the AC seems to be doing pretty well.
It rained yesterday so I took it as an excuse to wash the car and top it with another layer of Collinite 845.
I find even the smallest spec of dirt, the minutest swirl is more obvious on a black colored car. The pics below have a thin layer of fine dust despite being cleaned 7 hours ago and being parked in a garage. So hunt is on for a polish with cleaning abilities, a bit of glaze and of course minor swirl removal.
Few pics of last nights detailing session

Oh boy! Your black car is shinning like a mirror! The best part of buying a dark colored car is that you can make it shine by polishing. But again on dark color dust and swirls are more visible.

For my white car, after three hours of back breaking polishing, the car looks all the same as before polishing. :(
