In my honest opinion, Hyundai should have better released the Avante, i.e New Elantra at a real competitive price which should have sufficed to answer the competition, but now, If "Tranform" offers some new and exciting features (though which I don't expect), It'd be perhaps able to revive charm for Verna once again.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today launched Hyundai Verna Transform today in India. The Hyundai Verna is targeted at mid income level customers. Hyundai Verna Transform is set at price range of Rs. 6.56-9.22 lac (ex showroom Delhi). Hyundai Verna 2010 is launched ahead of its 2011 model. Hyundai Verna diesel variant is set at price of Rs. 7.87 lac in India. The car is good value for money and will compete with Tata Indigo, Maruti SX4 and other mid segment cars.

Hyundai Verna 2010 will have 2 variants; petrol engine 1.6L and diesel engine 1.5L. Hyundai Verna mileage will be 14.8 kmpl on highways for petrol variant and 16.8 kmpl for diesel variant on highways.

2010 Auto Expo, the Verna Transform has already been launched in Korea and has managed to earn raving response thanks to its revamped exterior and stylish interiors. The previously dull looking Verna has been given a more aggressive front facia with brand new bumpers, headlamps, radiator grill and side mirror repeaters.

The new Verna Transform brings a stylish new interior with a lot of additional features making it more fuel efficient and as all its powertrains receives fuel economy improvements. On the interiors side the sedan boasts of a latest MP3 player, a blue lit illuminated panel which catches eyes instantly and an iPod connect. The new avatar of Verna also brings an eco friendly lamp in the dash board that consumes very less of power and a radio, speedo and techo dial.

With the launch of Verna Transform, Hyundai aims to boost the sale of Verna. The company launched the sedan in 2006 and since then has sold 82,076 units of the car. Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India, H W Park, said, “The Verna Transform is all set to boost Hyundai’s already superior line-up of products in India by raising the benchmark in the sedan segment.”

Hyundai Verna review has been good overall. Being established player and proven track record, Hyundai Verna is expected to perform well on Indian roads.

The pricing is the icing on the cake , now its real VFM! Previously even i thought it was slightly over-priced but now its bang on target! But the FE has taken a beating , 16.8kmpl on highways is really low. I easily get around 20kmpl on my Verna!

Rs.6.56 Lakhs is Ex. Showroom pricing, So the base variant would cost a little below Linea, Maybe a value package (Base) if we look practically? But it still does not feels as fresh.

But I am little bit surprised that, the features are not even in par with i20. forget about i20; it doesn't have Air Bags even in the top models! Below is the Ex-Showroom Price (Rs.) in DELHI:

Verna VTVT w/o Audio Rs.655,896
Verna VTVT w/ Audio Rs.674,321
Verna SX VTVT Rs.750,384
Verna VGT w/o Audio CRDi Rs.787,881
Verna VGT w/ Audio CRDi Rs.806,404
Verna VGT SX CRDi Rs.857,140
Verna VGT SX AT CRDi Rs.921,522

Whether they have transformed it or not, with out Dual air bags at this price, I don't think this is VFM .

Even the previous model did not have airbags and that has been the major drawback in this car. It gives unmatched performance in its class but when it comes to safety its NIL save the ABS!

Well atleast the prices have been reduced considerably but the car still lacks features , only the performance is its forte!

I want to check this blue LED illumination and also know whether these sharp eyed headlamps provides greater visibility at night as claimed by them.

I think, that face lift and reduced price will help them to clear the stock. Most of the Indian buyers are least concerned about safety measures. The so called Safety & Security features listed by some of the manufactures are really funny to read.

Check out Huyndai Verna Transform:

Central Locking System
Kelss Entry (Integrated on Key)
Font Fog lamps
So, Hyundai should be expecting its buyer to be dump enough that he/she can not distinguish between Safety, Security, Comfort and Convenience !

Check out TATA Sumo Grande II:

The Grande Mark II has specially designed clear head lights for brighter illumination which results in better road visibility during night driving.
With the headlights, are we expecting anything other than road visibility!!??

The Grande Mark II with its ventilated discs brakes and twin pot calipers ensure precision and quick braking in the most adverse city traffic and even during fast driving on the highway.
You know, that is called brake [;)]

Well yeah they are funny indeed! Verna's sales were stagnant for the past few months and so i guess this facelift to revive some charm and grab some attention. Those who want performance will surely like me pick Verna as it has good FE too and service backup from Hyundai is also really good.

Well actually my Verna is used only for city driving so no chance of any major accident. Lets not move OT here.

Verna though still not VFM is a lot cheaper than before.

I am quiet sure guys, there is a well planned move behind the launch of this 'Transformed' version. They have some thing in stoke to fight against Linea, SX4, upcoming VW and Toyota sedans. This is just a beginning.

Verna Transform

These are snaps from the demo car at Pondicherry Hyundai showroom.
In my opinion,
1) Head lamps(resembling that of Figo)
2) The fog lamps and the front bumper(resembling like Corolla Altis)
3) The exhaust is a complete disaster.
4) I like the rear bumper.
5) The rail lights could have been of better shape.
6) "Verna Transform" badge is nowhere to be seen.

None of the changes looks appealing to me. The only thing ehich is looking good is the ORVM turn signal which even Surendar has on his verna.
So overall i like the older verna over this new one.
