guys i dont think any transform verna is coming, the all new model will be launch by 2011, news from IAB

Engine options include a 1.4 litre gamma petrol that punches out 106BHP of power, a 1.6-litre gamma petrol that pumps a 121 horses & also the same 1.5 litre 110BHP diesel that we currently have on the Indian Verna. The car is expected to have good driving dynamics & comfortable interiors too. The car has a wheelbase of 2570mm.

The new Verna goes on sale in China in July & is expected to hit the Indian market sometime in the middle of 2011, the same time we expect the Hyundai small car also to roll out. With the new Vento from VW & the next-gen Aveo from GM also expected to come next year the fight in the midsize sedans segment is sure to get intense!

Hyundai Verna Transform Launching On 23rd June!

At last, Hyundai Motors India Limited has confirmed the launch of refreshed Verna, namely “Verna Transform”. It’ll debut a day after tomorrow, i.e 23rd June 2010. No changes are expected under the hood as of now, but maybe we can see some little addition features and of course, the fascia of car will be different looking too like we discussed on the previous pages of this thread.

Honestly, Only Verna diesel was ace of the pack, hence it did well. Otherwise for the buyers looking in Petrol sedan market, there were/are better options available.

Looking at this soon-to-be launched Verna "Transform", I feel they should rather rename it as the all-new Verna "Malformed" [gun]

Don't worry though Dhaya. You're Verna will look better than the new one anyday. In fact, dare I say this, a Micra compared to this Verna "Malformed" looks spectacular.

But i still like the chrome sporty exhaust tips and both the front and the rear bumpers!

Only the front grille and headlamps seems to be out of proportion.

I have a similar feeling. This is more like a facelift. Instead of new bits like bumpers, grill they should have gone for a complete new wheelbase and come out with all new verna.i think the tag of Transform could be justified then.
Today is the launch day i suppose.

+1 on that Akash.

But increasing the wheelbase directly affects the balance of the car since its center of gravity shifts. It only means that they will have to change lot of things to get back the balance and not to forget the amount of testing that will be needed.

Hyundai are definitely not in the mood to invest on those things but they can't sit idle either, can they? So they end up doing such things which usually does not work a great deal.

Instead of this, better it would have been if they tried to promote the current Verna a bit more aggressively with some more goodies and offers.

Yes JammyD Completely agree with you thats why i said that Hyundai should have come out with a completely new Verna. Their entry level sedan is already dated and Verna too has been around for quite some time, so they should have done drastic change to atleast one of their sedans to remain in the race.
