So finally brought home a CRETA!!!

Was planning to buy a car for the past 6 months and was deliberately evaluating options.

I currently own a 2007 Skoda Octavia TDi Rider special in Red with company installed extra fittings for 75k then. A VRS Bumper, Alloys, Special edition break lights and spoiler. It cost me around 13.75L then.

Wanted to upgrade from the pure driving car. None in the market as my price restriction was below 15L.

Options
VW Vento
Skoda Rapid
Maruti CIAZ
Honda City
Maruti Vitara Brezza
Renault Duster
Nissan Terrano
Nissan Sunny

Finally came to Duster & Creta.

Suspension, Ride and Handling - Duster.
Interior, egronomics and esp Door closure- Creta

Finally Zeroed onto 1.4 S+ CRDi
It cost me 14.63 on road Hyderabad including Nil Dip insurance.

Like discussed before enquired about the Anniversary edition. It is just a cosmetic version. An SX+ Manual variant with Piano Black roof, Red accents on the A/C vents, special seat covers and body decals. All can be done outside. Just the Anniversary logo needed.

Did you see anything like a special addition?

Buddy in my above post I shared few pics of Anniversary edition of Creta and did not see anything as 'Special Edition' etc. I was actually more focused over the upcoming Elantra.[:)]

Hey! Nothing against you bro!.

Anniversary does mean another special edition. Should have added a few gizmos for the edition. However with the waiting almost non-existant may be for certain base variants and some slow moving colours, there is no more waiting period. They are playing game with prospective customers about waiting period and allotting a car if you threaten that a car is available at another showroom, the executive will revert back telling you stories that a car is immediately available as someone has delayed delivery or cancelled his booking. White and black are ready at most showrooms.

Hi folks,

After many discussions - more like arguments [:D] Dad cancelled booking for Creta and booked BRV Petrol V-MT. I didn't stop him since 99% of the time he will be using the car & I reside in Dubai.

Main reasons dad gave were:
1. Ground clearance higher @210 mm. Very useful for the bad roads in Orissa.
2. Seven seats (dad goes on trips with relatives, friends)
3. Larger boot space.
4. VTEC Honda Engine.

I personally feel the Creta is better than the BRV in these areas:
1. Looks... Creta is one of the better looking cars on the road any day !!
2. I don't like the BRV interiors, Creta has a much more premium feel here.
3. Petrol 1.6 is a silent and silky smooth operator.
3. Overall Creta is a better rounded package among small crossover SUV's.

My HEART wants the Creta but my HEAD understands my dads decision. [cry]

I presume many prospective buyers will be in a similar dilemma. Unless you really need the extra 2 seats, or CVT and the extra space, the Creta is the best choice.

Nevertheless, I will keep updating my ownership report of the BRV on another thread. Everyone is welcome with comments/suggestions.

Wishing all Creta owners here many happy miles. Cheers!

Hyundai not considering Hyundai Creta 4WD variant for India

“Buyers are very much satisfied with the overall package of the Creta, we see no reason for a 4WD variant. When the car was new, yes, we did receive a lot of inquiries about 4WD option, but now, a year later, I’ve almost no queries asking for such a variant. The demand is simply not there”, the person, who is closely associated with the Creta product.
“At least in the immediate future, we’re not considering 4WD for Creta. Should the market suddenly pick-up, then sure, why not. The platform is compatible with 4WD technology. We sell a 4WD variant in China, and we can do so in India, but I don’t think there’s going to be demand if we launch it now”, the person added.

Is the Hyundai Crete Petrol Automatic Comes Without Diamond Cut Alloy Spare?

Hello everyone,

I booked Hyundai Creta VTVT SX+ Automatic (Petrol AT) on 2nd January 2017 and in couple of days car will be delivered . I already did the PDI and everything was fine except the spare wheel. When I opened the boot to check the spare wheel I noticed that unlike the other 4 wheels it's not the Diamond cut alloy. It was 215/60 Bridgestone 17" non-alloy wheel. I asked the sales person and he wasn't sure too.

I read few reviews on some automotive forums like Team Bhp where they have mentioned that this car comes with 5 Diamond cut alloy wheels including the SPARE WHEEL. I also called Hyundai India toll free number to confirm this and their customer care representative informed me that spare wheel wouldn't be Diamond Cut alloy, it would be the simple wheel similar to the wheels you get in lower variants. Who is right? I'm pretty confused now. [confused]

Hope someone can help me. Any help will be highly appreciated!

Re: Is the Hyundai Crete Petrol Automatic Comes Without Diamond Cut Alloy Spare?

They were giving diamond cut alloy wheel as a spare in both Creta Petrol and Diesel AT so I was comparing with that.
So you wanted to say alloys instead of wheel caps?
