Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol Booked & Delivered
Friends further updates about my first impression of the cars interiors:-
Smart Key.
This was new to me or rather new to these segment cars. One doesn’t really have to use switches on his key to lock unlock the car. As long as you are in the range of 24inches from Car (with key in pocket) door and boot locks work- just press the switch on handle and car lock/unlocks. You can lock the car only if the Key is outside the car and the pushbutton start works only if the key is inside the car.
Each time you lock unlock the car ORVMs Auto Fold and AutoOpen respectively blinking the indicator lights. Believe me it’s an eye candy and owners pride.
Interiors:
In Asta variant you get height adjustable driver’s seat and also tilt steering and hence finding your best driving position is no hassle. As most of the time I drive with hand on the gear knob the shift lever position is spot on to my liking, it is perfectly placed between the orthodox position (between two front seats) and the dashboard. One doesn’t have to reach for the knob. However I feel the shifts are not as smooth as on Brio. The steering wheel locks when car is turned off.
Cars instrument panel displays right gear for your current speed and an arrow for upshift or downshift. However I do miss mileage indicator here.
The OEM ICE provides CD player, USB & AUX, Bluetooth and FM with 1GB internal memory. Sound quality is just above average. Steering mounted controls include Audio control, track change, call receive and end, Trip (reset and select). Bluetooth feature works perfect and the audio quality in calls is also good. Driver’s mike is placed right above driver head and does its job perfectly. With the help of steering mounted controls you can also change tracks on mobile as well.
Leather wrapped steering wheel offers good grip and solid feel to your hands plus adds to the upmarket feel. The fit and finish of duel tone dash board is also good. Air cooled glove box is another welcome feature of this car; you can turn the cooling vents on/off as per requirement.
The car has ample legroom and headroom. It feels roomy on the inside and 3 average size occupants can be comfortable on rear bench.
AC is good, I most of the time used fan speed 2 and it was cooling well. Rear AC vents work well and add to the comfort of passengers, a welcome feature from Hyundai. The rear vents can be closed when not in use.
Rear seat is foldable, though not completely flat due to the type of cushioning used.
