Hi All,

I am hearing this noise from under the hood of my grand i10. I am not able to isolate the cause for this noise. Can you help me out here ?

I have recorded a video of the same and here is the link.

https://youtu.be/bVktaUwq0mU

THis noise doesn't come when engine is started. IT appears after engine is running for some time (10-20 mins). It can be heard only when in neutral and at idle RPM.

Thanks for all the help !

I heard the sound, but not able to recognize what it is about. Why don't you take the car to ASC?

Thanks for the reply !. [:)]
Hyundai service advisors also are not sure what that noise is.
They asked to wait and see if it increases or becomes more audible and then only they can do something about it. [confused]

Thanks

This is pathetic. Drop a mail or call there customer care. ASC will pick up the car from your home.

I have checked the mileage with the tank full method. Same petrol pump, auto cut off and same booth were used. This was done twice and the mileage was concluded.
I have ordered an ELM327 v2, it is yet to reach me, will keep you posted about the mileage.
DFCO has not been implemented in grand i10 for sure otherwise it would have been more bang for your bucks. [;)]. I know many grand i10 (petrol) owners who receive a good mielage like 20 to 22 km/li. [clap]
Is there a way we can modify the ECU data and enable DFCO or maybe swap the ECU with one from non-VVT swift. I have a 2010 Swift Lxi and DFCO is very aggressively implemented in it. [:D]

I did some decent research on DFCO. 2 sundays worth of it.
My Overall conclusion- DON"T BOTHER. There are very few situations where it would be helpful, and the effect on FE would be less than 1%.

Here in Delhi NCR, I get only 12-13 kmpl in my grand i10 and in same condition, non VVT swift gives 14-15 easily.

Below are some of my findings:

For grand i10:
1. In neutral condition with AC OFF, the fuel flow shows as 0.8 to 1.0 litre/ hour
2. In neutral condition with AC ON, the fuel flow shows as 1.1 to 1.3 litre/ hour
3. When coasting in gear, the fuel flow shows as 1.8 to 2.1 litre/ hour.

For non VVT swift:
1. In neutral condition with AC OFF, the fuel flow shows as 0.6 to 0.7 litre/ hour
2. In neutral condition with AC ON, the fuel flow shows as 0.8 to 0.9 litre/ hour
3. When coasting in gear, the fuel flow shows as 0.3 to 0.5 litre/ hour.

So I guess it does affect the FE.

It would be a high risk thing to modify the ECU, not at all recommended. By the way I have received the ELM 327 and purchased the torque pro app. For now the mpg trim is set to 1. Do you know whats the optimal setting?

Hi friends...
I ve grand i10 sportz feb 2015 model
Car is nice but to talk of technical non technical issues is like no anti theft alarm or airbags etc.
Specifically I am facing some problems which I need to confirm whether any of the owners are facing it too
The car's ac is not so efficient.. While I look at the accelometer when the ac is on and the car is neutral the needle gets fluctuations after say every 1 min suddenly coming down a bit for 1min only and going back up for sometime and while the needle goes down I think the ac works for that min only then stops then starts again for 1min cuts off for smtime and starts again for another min
Another issue is vibrations and sounds in engine at 1 and 1.5 accelometer and also while driving when the gear power goes low and needs to downshift from say 4 to 3 or 3 to 2
Any help

One more problem is that my digital console always show my av speed as 6kmph as if its not working
Is it the same way for other users or I alone am facing this issue

Hi,
Issue with AC compressor, even i have noticed that but found no issues with cooling( Its not as powerful as say Figo) but works. And yeah, vibrations and engine noise do change when the compressor is turned on and off. thats because it cases a load change when the compressor is started.

Vibration when changing gear, i have had no such issues. May be some other members could help on that.
For lights dimming when using power windows, you will also notice that happening to cabin light, dont switch on the engine and just use the power windows, cabin light flickers a bit. I think power window relay uses a lot more power and must be using a lot more current that it should. Even the car user manual has a reference of not using two power windows at the same time. Which i weird though....
I think when the car is at idle, engine rpm is at 800-1000, this may not be enough to charge the battery and keep all electrical systems running.

Hi Guys,

Got my Grand i10 serviced yesterday. This was my 3rd and last free service. Below is the bill for it.
Free Service.jpg

There were few scratches happened on my right side rear door while reversing out from one of the hotels in Kolhapur. Thought of getting rid of those and below is the bill of painting entire door panel. They have kept my car for 2 days for painting work but the ultimate result is awesome.

Thank God. No clutch bite adjustment this time [:)]

I also have the grand i10 sportz petrol variant and AC doesn't feel good enough for afternoon hours.
Had the same issue of RPM needle fluctuating when AC is switched on, went to service center, they told that throttle body needs to be cleaned. Got it done right away and now its working fine. Although RPM does increases when AC compressor switches on after a while just like a fridge.

I recently had wheel alignment and wheel balancing done for my grand i10 and I paid 200 Rs for alignment and 40 Rs for wheel balancing per tyre. The shop also provided 2 months/ 2000 km free check as well.

Request to MODS, please incorporate this message into previous one, my apologies for back to back post :(
