just came back from kolar CCD with classmates. bunked classes and went there. bunking class and going for a drive always gives nice feeling . first time there were 5 people in my car 2 girls 3 boys(i mean gentlemen)

total 60 kms run. filled 400 rs diesel (excluding me). jumped onto the highway. was driving above 100 most of the time. touched 140 twice. it took little time as loaded with 5 people. but it can reach easily and has power to go further without struggling.
fe meter got reset after filling diesel and in the beginning first constant fe started with 17 kmpl and when came back home it was 19.5 , touched 20.2 in between....
moral of the story. if you have diesel car you can fool your friends. i burnt 150 rs diesel and made them fill 400 rs.
it was fun.but couldnt climb on those rocks behind ccd this time.

@nickandre, my dad will be taking delivery of our verna next week. I was wondering whether i should get the suspension tightened up or keep the car stock and try to live with soft suspension ? will there be any diff ? my father isnt an enthusiastic driver but he does go to speeds like 150 km/h. Now i dont want him to make feel unsatisfied as he is spending a lot of money on this car! what do you suggest ?

@neil I think for me my FE is a pain it keeps on jumping between 9-10-11-11.90 in the city whats the issue, its really frustrating at times.
I drive on the eco mode sumtyms before the eco modes guidience i change the gears.
Hyundai guys just say it will increase after servicing, my 1st service is already over.
My ODO's now 2200kms.
Or in mumbai one cant get a proper milage cause of the insane traffic!

ya traffic must be the cause. i know how bad traffic jams in mumbai are.
bangalore doesnt have that much traffic but when i stuck in traffic and do not turn off engine on signals , fe goes down to 12. in normal traffic , i get constant fe of 14 to 16. on highways only i get above 18.
so it is totally dependent on driving condition.

you diesel guys are lucky whenver i am in traffic i either cry by seeing the fe drop or by the heat if i switch the engine of ro by the digits i pay when tanking up.
Did a highway run of 60kms today and max fe is 10.1 with this sada hua regular petrol of 69 bucks per litre
Can i fill diesel in my car? or have hyundai change my engine to diesel.

60 kms took 400 rs petrol in your car today
60 kms took 400 rs diesel in my car today(from friends) but 250 rs diesel still remaining .

in my case when i fill the diesel and start driving the mid display me 25 kmpl then after some city run its start decreasing but on my first tankful i get average of 16kmpl totally city and hilly area drive where maximum speed is 70 km/h.

not bad...I checked tank to tank full and gives 25Kmpl and the display shows 27.5 Kmpl when I was driving @ 90Kmph. For 600 KM total distance its taken only 1000/-

90 km/h i wish ... but in my place when you go over 60 there is curve in front of you typical hilly area driving .

where yu from shubham and yes you will get less fe than most of us if you have everyday driving through hills if you drive alot through hills every day please service your car earlier and have oil changes at 7500kms atleast instead of the 10000km service

your drive area is always outside Pondy?
I drove completely in Chennai South area for 300 odd kms and it consumed 28.33L which is 10.76km/l

I believe even if u drive in traffic it will not go below 17kmpl for your car. Will there be a much difference in each diesel engine? I never raised the rpm beyond 2K and most of the time its 30 or 40km speed, but dash says avg speed as 18km.

Yeah mostly. My Avg speed it shows 52KM. Like you, I always don't push the rpm beyond 2000 and use to shift the gear as indicator shows and recently went to Bangalore and it was giving 25kmpl and in display it shown 27.5kmpl. . Today I dropped my car for 2nd free service. I told the service manager to put synthetic oil. They had accepted and I have to take my baby eve.

bensam which synthetic oil they will be using and do post the bill so we get an idea of the maintenance costs
