Guys, how to clean off the tar on alloys. I have a lot of tar marks and i tried pressure washing with car shampoo but it doesn't seem to help much. I dont know if wd40 is good for the alloys and in any case, its not going to make too much sense to sit next to the wheel and spray it on the open road

Use CarPro TarX, or CarPro Trix ( Iron and Tar Removal ) and it's clear coat safe.

Vipul, did your chauffeur take up "clean it easily" classes or anything? He seems to know exactly what to do to make a car look new without actually toiling much for that.
Experience is the key here, adding to an owner who keeps telling what to do and what not.

@Vipul,

thats the issue- with petrol, the clearcote on the wheels and the body work will go. There must be another way

Use diesel then. I have clearly mentioned that it's all good for alloy wheels as there is nothing called clear coat on them.

I do not know whether it is the appropriate place to raise the issue. Friends may correct me. A few days back I got a scratch on the right side of my car. I got it while trying to pass a stationary taxi. The scratch is not visible from a distance. But it is clearly visible when near. Is there any way to remove by home methods? I heard toothpaste can do the job. Friends please suggest.

Which color is your car ? [A picture would really help]

First check whether it's a clear coat scratch / a deep scratch. If it's a clear coat scratch, you can remove it easily by using polish. If polish doesn't blend it, watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nYF46P7B2c

Hello everyone,

This is how i clean my car :

1. First I vacuum my car.
2. Apply dashboard dresser, leather upholstery cleaners etc
3. Rinse car with low pressure water.
4. Wash using mitten and car soap [two bucket method]
5. Apply tyre dresser.
6. Again rinse with low pressure water.
7. Decontaminate using Clay bar.
8. Rinse again to remove fine decontamination.
9. Apply Polish [if necessary]
10. Apply glaze.
11. Apply wax/sealant and then buff it off.

Currently I'm using Chemical Guys Deep reflections, so step 10 & 11 is combined.

To answer your doubt. Yes, I have OCD for cleaning my car. [glasses]

Guys need help !

Here is my plan for car exterior wash (for every 1 or 2 week) ,(interior ,tyres ,windshield ) will be dealt in another post.

1 Rinse car with water from top to bottom.(will use bucket )

2 Wash using mitten and soap water (car shampoo) along with a bucket of clear water to rinse the mitten.

3 Rinse the car with clear water once again.

4 Dry the car with microfibre cloth.

5 Use clay,scratch remover,polish (if required)

6 Use car wax (once in 3 months or 6 months as per your requirement)

Step 5 and 6 are optional or to be used after a long gap .Can you please tell me where (step) and when to use car sealant (time gap).

Also would you prefer car shampoo or this 318hK82u7FL.jpg Optimum ONRWW8 No Rinse Wash & Wax (240 ml): Amazon.in: Car & Motorbike for regular washing.

Please guide me!

As per my knowledge, we use sealant after polishing [after applying glaze] before waxing. Sealant helps in preserving polished surface for a longer time.
Your car wax itself acts sealant. This wax layer will strip/faded with time or due to external contaminants or agents. Commercially sold sealant can withstand against external contaminants and wax stripping agents thereby protecting your polished surface for a longer time. I normally wouldn't recommend using a sealant unless you own a very expensive car or bike

I would prefer this product if money is no problem. The bottle is 8oz and we have to use 1-2oz for each wash to get good results. For a guy who washes every week, this will not be effective.

I use household glass cleaner to clean my windshield, windows & ORVM. Be careful not to let it dry on paint surface.

Is it car wash shampoo that you use or regular shampoo? Also what make cloth do you use to wipe the car after washing?
