Hope all of us owning a car will know the pain of cleaning the interiors, especially the floor carpet. I hate that work! Yet, have no choice.

How do you do it?
Note, disregard the Vacuum Cleaner option. The intention is the make it easier for the ones who do not have access to it.

Here is my experience - Though I have a Vacuum Cleaner at home, I couldn't use it as I stay in apartment and can't pull out power cord from my home, neither would want to use the common electricity. Hence, I used to clean the floor with a cloth, accumulate all dust at a point and try to take them out. The last part is more painful than the entire process, yet not happy to get 100% satisfaction.

Of late, I tried using a brush, a hard one to clean the carpet and it's working well. Also, the stuff we use to pick garbage at home helps well to pick the dusts after accumulating it. Cons, the brush being harder, it make create bobbling in the surface and also the dusts is spread in to the entire cabin while sweeping it. So, I feel, a hand brush, maybe a little softer one that's available in auto accessories shop will do the job well.
Subbu, I appreciate your concern about using common current for your personal purpose.

some cents from my side for your problem.

1. Even I live in apartment, but luckily on road side and that too in first floor. So I have managed to have a lengthy wire connected with plugs at both end (Male and female). Whenever I need to clean my car interior (mostly the floor) I use the wire and then connect my vacuum cleaner to it and happily clean my sparky.

2. If that is also not possible, why don't you try those small vacuum cleaner which can take power from your car itself. I think you can finish cleaning the floor in matter of 10 to 15 minutes if you do it in vacuum cleaner so it wont drain your battery also much (just a suggestion or idea, do not know much since not used this before)

Apart from the cons you have mentioned using brushes, I would like to add one more. I am sure your carpet's quality might go down if you use such brushes regularly.

Thanks Anna.

Yup, I am on first floor too, but sooner will move out of this place. So, will think about the possibility of similar option when I move to the new place.

So in your opinion, Vacuum is the only and best choice. Thanks.

Finally got the car shampoo that I wanted. MUC-OFF UBERSHINE LUXURY CAR SHAMPOO 1 Ltr.

Ordered the item on IndianAutoStore a week ago and the issue for delay was courier companies have stopped taking liquid items for delivery. But IAS didn't let me down, One of their (may be) person was coming to my city so they arranged for hand delivery to me.

His bother has a car decor shop in my city and it turns out that they have the same product for sale here! for approx same price so next time I can buy it here instead [:D]

I'm glad that IndianAutoStore has at least delivered the item to me.

Now cannot wait to detail my car this weekend! Wash+Polish+Wax gonna be hard task but enjoyable. [;)]

I have one query about how to clean fine dust accumulated on car. Basically I wash my car once in week (on weekends) but in one week’s time a lot of fine dust gets accumulated on car body, so currently I use lot of water (2 to 3 buckets) to remove this dust. While reading some reviews on Jopasu Duster I learned that it can remove such fine dust without causing any scratch to paint. How is this product (Jopasu Duster) ? Has anyone used it ? I am planning to order it very soon so need some inputs on it.

Jopasu Duster is one the best tool to clean your car especially for the scenarios you have mentioned. Check on E-Bay and you shall get a good deal. I am using it from past 1 month on my White Beat & the results are excellent. If you just check on reviewes you will hardly find anyone having a negative review.

Seeing the above questions (in bold), I would recommend you to go thru this entire thread and the one dedicated for Jopasu (http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/maintaining-my-ride/1542-jopasu-car-duster.html) [;)]
