Re: Honda Contemplating To Bring Maruti Ertiga Rival: Named Mobilio

The design from the side as well as the rear quarter is not the best Honda has put together. It pronounces that the MPV has come into the radar of Honda only after the Brio/Amaze. The rear design especially is good when looked from straight back. The interiors again are taken from Brio/Amaze. Its spacious than Ertiga which is a good point.

Whatever shortcoming it has, it is a Honda and surely will have takers if the pricing goes well..!! [:)]

Kulathunkal motors (tata) is now Perfect Honda.

I had some worst times with Kulathunkal. [frustration] Hope it will be changed with Honda brand.
Yes! Have heard notorious stories about A.S.S in Kulathunkal. It will be interesting to see whether change in brand makes the dealer good[;)]

Rear looks good. Low cargo loading height is a [thumbsup].

Lets hope Honda launches this with aggressive pricing.

On the interior part, really wish Honda changes the front seats, and provides one with a proper headrest. (If one looks at the first pic carefully, the front seats are just like Brio & Amaze.)

I doubt they will do that. But that is surely a need of the hour. Integrated headrests just doesn't go good with a 7 seater.
I can understand the cost cutting measures when(and if) vezel will be introduced in India.

You see what I mean, the design is messed up and ugly, even though practical.
Also the interiors will be unchanged from the Amaze, except for a different Music system.

Every car has its own strength and weakness. Here too Mobilio has its weekness. I have a Brio currently which replaced Swift Diesel. I do not regret buying a car which has less features and non proportionate looks(All Glass Rear), but every kms i have driven it has given me smile. So here car's driving Dynamics, brand appeal has won over Design, Equipment.

Maruti Ertiga is a good car no doubt, but mobilio will have its strength's to interest buyers. People who just blindly go for Maruti cars without considering other cars i will call them "Stupid". Because they just say that Maruti Cars has excellent ASS, resale value, inexpensive spares and service. Its not just Maruti, but other brands too have those points ticked. The only thing why Amaze is not selling as much as Dzire is that Honda doesn't have as much Dealerships as Maruti. If Honda had as much dealerships as Maruti, thier cars would have sold more. The same story will be with Mobilio. It will be priced higher and will sell less then Ertiga. If Honda was as old as Maruti, it would have been as popular.

Here are the weak points of Ertiga i found when i saw it
1. There is absolutely no space in 3rd Row unless 2nd is forwarded.
2. Insufficient Torque in 2nd Gear with AC when want to overtake.
3. Turbo Lag below 2500 rpm.
4. Very less boot space with all 3 rows upright.

These weaknesses cannot be found in Mobilio. So ugly looks, basic interiors will be overcomed by efficient and powerful engine, practicality, space

I am looking for Mobilio with automatic transmission. Just fingers crossed whether they will launch with 5-speed torque converter (Brio version) or CVT (one in new City) and how they will price automatic, mileage etc. Eagerly waiting.

Well, there are always weaknesses in any car.
Ya, there is no space in the 3rd row of the Ertiga when the 2nd row is pushed all the way back. But that is what the flexibility means. You can adjust the space for anyone.
Okay, I agree with you on the lag below 2000rpm. But still, it more than makes up for this by the awesome mileage and highway performance.
Regarding the boot space, how can you expect that much of boot space in a compact MPV?
But still, the LUV fares much better than Xylo/XUV or the Enjoy in terms of this.
The main drawbacks of current Honda sedans like Amaze/City is the excessive noise and cost cuttings combined with poor interiors.
For a 13lac sedan, doesn't fixed rear headrests feel cheap? Also is the absence of inner boot plastic cladding, revealing all the wires and metal. Worse is the case of poor noise insulation. Honda doesn't concentrate on giving a comfortable, smooth and truly luxurious cars. It is just trying to give as much equipment with as much cost cutting on engineering.
On this regard, Maruti gives a properly engineering, good looking and wholesome package.
Sir, No Ertiga owner has bought it blindly just because it is a Maruti.

'If Honda was as old as Maruti, it would have been as popular.' If pigs had wings they could fly! Your comments can be appropriately suited to the adjective that you used.
