I got my amaze's tyre changed yesterday. stock tyre were MRF ZVTV. Changed them with Yokohama A.drive 185/65/R14. The ride is more comfortable now and the ground clearence has been also increased by 7mm, which is an advantage to me as the road here are pathetic.
So you changed the stock tires that are of size 175/65 R14 to 185/65/R14 ??
And that increased the ground clearance from 165mm to 172mm??
172mm is quite acceptable and I would be happy with that.
What's your tire pressure set to?

How can we validate the increase in the ground clearance?

The reason I am asking this question is: A month ago I had a chat with the Nissan staff to find out how I could potentially increase the ground clearance of Nissan Micra by upgrading the tires and he didn't think changing tires would really help the ground clearance. Honestly I was not convinced with the answer but I left it at that. Perhaps this thread would help me gain a deeper understanding of upgrading tires in order to increase ground clearance.

I changed the tyre size to 185/65/R14 . 185 is the section width of the tyre. 65 percent of 185 is the height of side wall i.e 185 x 65% (or simply 185 x 0.65)=120.25 mm
stock tyre were 175 x 0.65=113.75 mm
so the increase in side wall is 120.25-113.75=6.5 mm
and increase in side wall is increase in ground clearance
