Anyways Alok, enjoy your Thunderbird and post a review soon. Be VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY careful with the running in part. The first 5000 kms on an Enfield decide how the next 50000 kms on it are going to be.

From a Honda to an Enfield, heh heh, ab aayega maza (you're in for some fun and games).

Thanks Sam, it was in pipeline for a long time, in between Zuma confused me but Suzuki made easy to decide to go for RE. Couple of months back, a new RE showroom opened a km away from my house and that day itself I decided to go for it.

Yes right now, I am riding <60 and very less throttle to let bike roll over with it's own torque like diesel car :P. I am happy and most important my wife is happy and finding every silly excuse to go for a small ride. Till now, it ran for just 60 KM :(. Hope after 1st service, I will start using for office commute.

No I did not face any knocking, or might be I have not used 5th gear a lot the rides were really short.But I believe, it will not give knocking in 5th gear at speed of 50KMPH. In my experience, most of bike will cruise fine at 50KMPH in top gear.

Have you tried riding the TB500 at a steady (exactly) 50kmph in 5th gear without experiencing knocking? If not please try it and get back.

Enfields are meant to ride, they munch kms! They are the Gods of Km Munchers.
My dad's friend did 7.5 Lac Kms on his 87' Enfield Std 350 before selling it!
And yes, time to change your profile photo with ERTIGA and RE TB! Ask mods if you even can change your User ID to ERTIGA_RE!

Actually for office commute, I need something which can go at higher speed and since TB is still in run-in phase, so could not take him to office. After 1st service, will use it more frequently.
