Just give for a FULL service before selling. Put some QUALITY polish which llasts for at least 5 days even in open parking conditions. Clean the Fi System.
That's All! Your ZMR will sell for 75k itself!

I would prefer you to have TB .DS is a killer ,but the pressure these classic style bikes put on your hands in the bumper to bumper traffic is huge.
Since you are in Bangalore, I recommend TB,else just go for classic 350 which will give you a better mileage since you will be travelling with your back pack only.
DS is not a choice in the bangalore traffic.
The ergonomics and the raised handle bar in TB will be relaxing for you to ride.
Just FYI ,I ride my classic 350 with wrist support.[:D]

I guess what you mentioned is enough for him to go ahead with TB500. I also gave preference to comfort over look.

Congrats on choosing to go for a 500cc bullet. Point to point replies are posted:-

1: Less niggle.

There is no bike without niggles, depends on your maintainance.

2: Better comfort including for pillion rider.

TB is better suited for highway rides while DS is better in looks.

3: Fuel economy ( It may sound stupid as both are of same capacity but read several reviews and TD owner claimed more than 30 while DS owner around 22-27 KMPL)

Fuel economy depends on the way you drive. There will not be a 7 kmpl difference between TB and DS if both are 500cc. My Bulet Std 500 returns 32 kmpl in Delhi.

All of my friends/family to go for DS because of it's Macho look. My heart says go for DS but mind say TD500 because of modern features.

All bullet 500cc have the same engine with a difference in looks and slight features but the DNA remaining the same. Choosing a bullet is not by features or looks but having a bullet in your heart. TB and DS have fuel ignition while Std has a carburettor. In case of problem with fuel ignition system you have to take your bike only to RE workshop as local mechanics cannot do any thing about it. Also FI is costlier to replace compared to carburettor. Advantage of FI system is it adjusts the fuel mix according to different situations, like if you are traveling to different places with different altitudes. While in 500cc you to change jets or adjust the carburettor to suit a particular altitude. This is in case you travel extensively over different altitudes.

Go for TB if you mostly do highway riding of 70% or higher.

Go for DS if your main criteria is looks.

Go for Std 500 if you want better thump sound and better engine life of all models of bullets.

Between 350 and 500cc bikes you get 3 kmpl extra FE but 500cc has the extra power.
Maintainance and FE on any model depends on your individual driving style and how you maintain your bike with regular specified service intervals. All models have been ridden across the country.

Finally keep in mind bullet is not about features or fuel economy, ......... Bullet is not a bike........ Bullet is bullet.

Bullet is about the thump and feel when you ride it. Irrespective of any cc or any model you will have heads turning as you pass by. So mate just decide what you want in bullet and not what others feel about it. Just go ahead.

You have clarified all my doubts to go ahead with TB500 and my mind also said to stick with TB500 instead of DS. All non petrol head suggested to go with DS while all expert say to go with TB500. Hope I will do justice to RE after riding Bajaj Super, Caliber, Pulsar, Activa, Karizma ZMR and sexiest Vespa S.

Don't get confused.

TB500 : If you want a more modern look than the DS, like the TB500 has a neat digital analog display, etc then you go in for the TB500. And TB500 has a better ground clearance than the DS.

DS : If you want a classic old age looks and want several heads on the road to turn then DS would be a better option. And if you want to stand alone/away from the crowd then DS would be a better option.

I myself was confused on purchasing my bullet between the TB350 and Classic 350 and atlast i took my Classic 350 for its stand alone from the crowd looks which made me to decide among these and my main requirement was the comfortable seating of both pillion and rider.

i know where you are coming from DS has that rugged Macho look whereas the TB has this urbanized look. I'd go for DS over TB.However having said that pillion rider comfort is good in TB compared to DS. The Exhaust of DS is awesome when compared to TB. its your call what are you looking in a bike.

Depends on the comfort you are looking for,DS for its classic looks & TB for the comfort on long rides , I would recommend a TB500 as the build quality is exceptional when compared to other bikes as both TB & cafe race is built in the new plant where they have improved the quality considerably .I have also booked a TB 350 marine blue few months back & yet to receive unfortunately the price has been increased from INR 143000 to 163570 on road in Bangalore .

Finally I have decided to book TB500 only and now it's on-road price is approx 2.05 L in Bangalore. Shocking to know that they give warranty on engine for just 10,000 KM and body part only 9 Months.

Congrats on the decision. Do share more details after booking.

REs quality is diminishing now-a-days. In Chennai there are few REs started rusting withing 1st year ownership. Don't be panic, a proper maintenance should keep you away from such incidents.

Update :

Thank you for providing input.

On day of Holi when India beat WI in a kind of nail biting contest, I was watching the match at RE showroom and taking the delivery of TB 500cc - lightning.

I will open a new thread about ownership and will seek help from friends at TAI to resolve any issue if it occurs :).

Here are the pics, I will share some high quality pics in ownership thread.

Stone is nice color and look elegant but it requires high effort to maintain. We have Vespa S in matte black and trust me it acts as magnet to dust.
