Thanks for clarifications, I was actually worried about this drop considering my recent readings of 22-23 kmpl (eco driving) and 19-20 Kmpl (worst case). As you all mentioned, hot weather and some spirited driving may have lead to this but I would have settled with 1 more kmpl at least [evil]

FE stats of both highway runs:

First Highway run:

388.7 Km-18.47L=21.04 Km/l[clap].

Second Highway run:

342.5 Km-18.38L=18.63 Km/l.

So,impressed with Vento's figures.Being a Rocket,she gave much FE.BTW,we touched 140 Km/h with another driver yesterday while going to Nizamabad.As our permanent driver is not there,temporary driver had come.So,happy with my Rocket's FE.

So total:388.7+342.5 Km=731.2 Km.
FE of both highway runs=19.84 Km/l=20 Km/l.

So,best highway FE figures are:

1.21.04 Km/l
2.18.63 Km/l
3.17.8 Km/l a.k.a 18 Km/l

Distance 630 Km

From Pune - Lonawala - Pali - Dapoli beach & same way back to pune.
3 Persons with 3-4 small bags (Less than 50 kg in trunk)

Speed was 80-100 constantly , but on express way reving to 140 kmph for 10 mins. [:D]

That's really an amazing figure for sure then. Except for express way, all other roads aren't that great to what I know, especially in Dapoli. When I visited in Aug 2011, it literally had no roads.

Now its 53K + on ODO and the average has come down by 2 KMS/LTR.
2 reasons -
1 Huge increase in traffic. Earlier my home to office distance 15 KMS use to take 20/ 25 off mins and now the same route takes close to 40 Mins
2. Car is becoming old with few niggles now :(

My Ertiga still runs 598km for 33 liters of diesel. I am still waiting for the low fuel light to come on to calculate the FE.

Yes for a MPV it is a good mileage. I do not drive above 80km speed. All 4k done in Chennai bumper to bumper traffic. I opted Maruti only for this FE, the FE will last till they are sent for scrap. FE will increase after first oil change so expect to touch 19km+/L in city. [:D]
