Re: FORever Defective - Horror Story with EcoSport

In that case Polo or Figo would be a better choice.Personally I would consider the Polo as it is a German make and it also gives superb reliability.
Thanks.
Dad firm to get either Toyota or Honda next.

If reliability wasn't an issue, I would love to own Ameo DSG. That machine drives so well, and is fast enough especially in sports mode.

Can you please check and see if you are getting different blower speeds at different settings or is it really low or really high at any setting.

This is really disheartening
Since our quest for a new car began in September 2016, we just seem to be seeing horror stories(Tata, JLR, Ford, VW, Skoda etc) or ridiculous pricing(Luxury Germans , Jeep and Lexus) and omissions of certain features in pricey cars (Also Luxury Germans) causing us to drop cars from our looong list every few days

Seems we might go for Tucson after all, my Dad and I were very keen on the Endeavour and it felt more vfm than Fortuner but seeing this kind of experience , seems Hyundai, Honda, Toyota are still our pick after all.

@Cooldude17 I wouldnt say Polo is reliable, my neighbour has tonnes of issues with his GT TSI and Vento 1.6 MPI, funny thing is he still went ahead and bought a brand new A4 a while back and now he is in a fix what to do because he is contemplating selling the GT TSI and buying Figo or City CVT and S Cross 1.6 in place of Vento but Audi might have an even scarier horror story if something goes wrong the way it did with his GT TSI and Vento. Other than the reliability issues, part failures and service costs, he was really happy with the cars

@kkkn13 Hello..![:)]
Hyundai Tucson is a good choice,But if you have budget for the Endeavour you should go for it.
I suggested the Polo because of its build quality and I personally like it's performance, which makes it a solid road trip companion.
Thanks.

Endeavour has a few things against its favour no matter how badly my dad and I want one-

-Size
-Resale
-After sales
experiences like this thread and now this-
http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/ownership-reviews/31069-ford-figo-defective-product.html

Tucson is fairly well sized and balanced as such, steering is a bit lighter for my taste and no sunroof [frustration] but its liveable . Love the AT and engine !!

Who knows maybe if Ford wakes up and helps these two TAIgers ,maybe Ill consider Endeavour as replacement for our Innova in future [:D]

Esmaniac any updates from your side??
Well they checked Fan and they said it is normal. They checked RPM shifts and said it is normal.

To ensure what they said is right ! I visited another ford dealership.

This was a bigger joke. Guy started the car and said this is normal.

I asked him to show me same in another car . Now this is where he started giving me gyan on Gear Changes, Tyre Pressure for 1 passenger, Tyre Pressure for 5 passenger, Speed for better efficiency.

At this stage I asked him to please show me any other car. He took me to TDCI Titanium model. Guess what it was silent.

He said this wont make noise as AC works differently here. Why then waste my time.

Shockingly, he said some time later sensor will show an error message and then I should bring it. I was like why would senson show an error, he was like it will at some stage may be in rain etc.

Something is wrong, they simply not admitting it. Strange. I was surprise with his confidence that sensor will give up sooner or later

Are you sure its the AC fan? I feel its the engine cooling fan switching on and off.

Let me explain.

When the car is on the the engine cooling fan runs at a slow speed. When you switch on the AC the engine cooling fan and the AC fan starts running. Now when the car gets heated up, ie above normal, the engine cooling fan switches to higher speed. That sound is similar to the one I hear from your video.

Now if its the engine cooling fan running at high speed, then its a good thing as it shows its working. I mean the fan is working fine. BUT. The sudden shutting down of it means the regulators that are switching the high speed motor on and off are getting wrong signals.

Have they checked the theromstat? Have they checked the relays for engine cooling fans? Ask them to plug in the car to the diagnostics and check if ECU is getting correct readings. For coolant temperature and all and the resultant outputs by the ECU are correct.

In short, YES THERZ AN ISSUE WITH THE CAR. ITS NOT NORMAL.

They are in denial mode. They said NOTHING WRONG.

RPM shifts with AC ON @idle with vibrations every 10-15 seconds. Never seen in any other car including ES. There are occasional random jerks minute one when you keep car at steady pace with accelerator paddle pressed at same position i.e in driving mode.

Another thing was when I accelerate and hold the peddle down there is a power cut and RPM automatically goes down. Not sure if this is normal.

They say Thermostat is all fine. ECU has no error.
[frustration][frustration]

What should I do next. They simply deny anything wrong. All say there is something wrong..

NEw UPDATE - Issue of RPM shift back again at 40K

RPM used to shifts every few seconds during idling with AC ON causing Vibrations & Noise in cabin. Ford says RPM of 750-960 is acceptable at idle.

Company's manual says 750+50 RPM is recommended i.e Max should be 800.

ISSUE IS BACK TO HAUNT AGAIN at 40K. If there was no issue, where was it for 2 years between 10K-39K??

Jokes at harpreet ford - another guy has same issue

Another guy has same issue since 2013. Also, note in his case they said Injectors may be an issue. In my case see JOKE DONE BY THEM YESTERDAY --

=======================================

Visiting Harpreet Ford is like an appearance in Court.

You have to prove that Car is guilty. They are like law Blind. Can only see what the Laptop will show.

Joke 1 : As car's RPM was shifting every 10 seconds we showed it to SA.

While in a New car we tested did so 1nce every 60 second.

Per him it was my 'Doubt' all is fine with car. I had my friend with me who is a B Tech.

We were expecting this answer from SA and asked him to show other new car.

Guess, what while our car was in shed , it was showing RPM shift every 10 Secs. (They call it compressor cut off)

Precisely the count was 7 in 65 Seconds or so. Guy said car is under shed and hence the compressor is cut off. I was like how will you explain this when car is in Open Sun at 45 Degrees.

He said lets try new car. Now in new car cut offs started after 12 minutes. He moved the car under work shop - Guess what only 8 cuts in 7 minutes.

So, his theory that all car cut off every 10 seconds under shed falls into pieces.

Now to prove that my car does cuts even under Sun, which per him was impossible, we took car for spins outside.

I asked him to move the car under Sun and lets fail his theory that Cut off leading to RPM shift happened as car was under sun.

We had a short trip and once car on heated, after 11 minutes guy said it wont cut off as it is under Sun.

I was wait a sec. Guess what - Next 10 seconds it started RPM fluctuation cycle. Same every 10 seconds. His lies were fallen flat and he said temperature must have reached. I was you just said it wont as we are under 40+ degrees sun.

While in New car it was like 3 times in over 70 Seconds after they took car away for 45 minutes drive.

In Nutshell,

Under Sun or Under Shade - My car RPM shifts every 10 Seconds

New Car under Shed - RPM fluctuated 7 times in 7 minutes

New Car Under Sun after 45 min long drive - 3 cuts in 70 Seconds.

Joke 2 : New car was silent and for this SA said.

Your car is old and will make noise.
I was like it is making noise since 10K KM, so you saying Ford car good enough for 10K KMs.

It is an absolute disgrace that they cannot solve a simple issue.

Joke 3 : We asked him to show the Graphs which shows movement of RPM over a time horizon. He said it requires special wire for IDC to produce chart and he can only show Screen shots. He was taking screen shots for Ford.

A chart would have easily proves that my car fluctuates far frequently. Add to it noise and vibrations levels.

I showed them Noise levels as well on a APP, that noise levels are way higher in my car.

They said they will discuss with FORD.

JOKE JOKE JOKE OF THE YEAR.....
