The brilliance of Fords DCT is in delivering mileage that manual can dream of or maybe even a diesel, Here is Business standards review of Fiesta 1.5 DCT, sure its no powerhouse like Polo GT TSI but drive it accordingly and surprise will follow, the reviewer got 12 kmpl+ in city with 3 adults on board most of the time and with cruise control got a whopping 24+ kmpl with PETROL, now CVT,DSG, or any traditional AT beat that in INDIA

@1989rs500 @ChayanThank you for your valuable information. My problem is, here in Hyderabad, Dealer A offers good on-road price which is 30-35,000/- cheaper than dealer B but Dealer B does better service than dealer A. Previously I bought a Ford Fiesta from dealer A but I am not satisfied with their service, so after warranty I started to give it for service at dealer B and at dealer B over a period of time I have a good rapport with SA's & experienced mechanics there..so I don't want to go back to dealer A again.

These are the price quotes given to me for 2013 Ford Fiesta Titanium 1.5TDCi
Dealer A: 12.22 Lakhs OTR
Dealer B: 12.56 Lakhs OTR

Well 2013 Ford Fiesta 1.5 TDCi is that the one going to debut in India by 2014 or is that the current 2012 model Fiesta? If the 2012 model Fiesta has a price tag anything north of 11.5 lakhs leave it, It may be a great car but Ford has destroyed that car and resale will be a horrible experience , dealers give different price quotes,as @Volksjäge has said if dealer B has better service service at dealer B and by car from dealer A but not the current gen Fiesta its way overpriced for what it offers

What I mean to say or asked for is, Ford Fiesta manufactured in 2013. As you already know Fiesta is a market flop, dealers have so much of old stock left that are manufactured in 2012 and they are going head over heals to dispose them off. They are giving discounts upto 1 lakh on 2012 models. But I asked them for 2013, they said that it can be done on order basis & I won't be getting any discounts!!! The prices which I quoted above are without discounts. They also said that it will take 3 months to make & deliver the car. But Sales reps are again forcing me to buy 2012 model. And I am no way buying the existing fiesta knowing that Facelift is going to be launched in 2014. And the 1 lakh discount that they are offering on a 2 year old car does not make it any VFM option, I think they need to give more discount.

Ya I too heard that 1 lakh Rs discount for Fiesta Titanium plus, still as mentioned its not worth, even the 2013 made model wont make sense when the 2014 model comes to showrooms, so best thing to do is wait for Fords next move, If the new Focus or Fiesta shows up in 2014 we can lock out target
From the information I got Ford will display its launches in Delhi expo 2014 on February 2nd week, The models that are almost sure to go to are 2015 Ford Figo,2014 Fiesta, and a new car which not even Fords software team has no idea what it might be, maybe Focus or Kuga SUV or 2015 Endeavour, out of these 3 the Fiesta has the biggest probability of hitting shores first, If Ford can price it at part with competition it will have a descent image, If Ford is ready to plonk Ecosport tune 1.5 TDCi into 2014 Fiesta its diesel drivers car of choice, If Ford is going to put 1.0 ecoboost into Fiesta 2014 its petrol drivers car of choice

Re: Ford Fiesta Facelift Coming To India in 2014

Yesterday had a chance to get inside and drive my friends new Fiesta 2012 model, it has done 59995 kms in just 2 years time and still running as smooth as silk and I once again confirmed Fords solid ride/handling with Fiesta, the turbo lag was still horrendous but once past 2000 rpm it was a real delight to drive. clutch has got significantly soft was really hard when I drove it earlier(when it had just 12000 kms on it), The best part is how it absorbed bumps, its still class leading, I had been in the Vento/Verna/Scala/2006 City nothing can match Fiesta in ride/ handling when I drove Vento I was almost fully satisfied with its ride but driving Fiesta again assured that Fiesta is in a totally different league, its way better handler and at speeds above 50 kmph, the ride is simply aladdins magic carpet, smooth yet has very agile front end
Ecosport is not even 70% as good as Fiesta maybe 50 % only, Hope Ford brings 2014 model soon

Drive the linea .
Have driven it, and I shall admit that it has better steering feedback and better brakes than fiesta, but it feels as if the front end is really heavy, also the best linea to drive is the t-jet version but it has huge turbo lag below 2000 rpm and after that it's really fast and fun, but the heaviness of lines always lets it down, it's very agile but not as snappy as fiesta, take long corners with linea and try accelerating while cornering and the weight pushes the car more towards the exit and we should really be careful with the steering wheel not to loose traction, fiesta on the other hand feels light and agile as well, another problem I feel with linea is some what clunky gearbox compared to fiestas,
I know that all of these are minor criticism that most Indians don't even mind, but as a fanboybinscrutinised handling of cars the most and somehow fiesta just nudges ahead of linea from my observations

Ride quality and handling linea is better anyday .in fiesta the rear seat itself is cramped . Car gives a cheap feeling inside .
Fiesta is a good car but for sure not class leading and all .

Re: Ford Fiesta Facelift Coming To India in 2014

See I didn't mention anything about backseat, if we take it as an overall package lines is much better than fiesta, but if the front driving seat, driving position and pure handling is taken into account fiesta wins for me hands down, the worst enemy if a superb handling car is weight, the Mercedes e 63 amg, range rover sport 2009,bmw m62013, etc are perfect examples, they are all great cars with great dynamics, but weight lets them down, i have driven a fiat pinto with 60k + on odo and the gearbox was clunky and car had lots of rattles as well, but I don't mind it, the worst part came when me and some of my friends made a trip to beach with it, with 4 people the car could hardly move, on the way back there was only 2 and we had some enthusiastic driving and the front end got loaded up much faster than we expected and grip seemed low compared to fiesta, punto was easily giving up into a drift, we had no choice but brake the awesome brakes showed it's weight disadvantage, since we were in a corner the weight pushed it from our lane to the next , note the speeds were excess of 60 kmph while taking this turn,
On the other hand while fiesta was not as precise as punto, it felt a lot more lighter, while braking was superb like punto it was linear and the same bends we took punto was easier in a fiesta, also the front end of fiesta had little bit more traction than punto before it gave to under steer, maybe stock tyres don't know exactly but fiesta blended it better, regarding ride both are great,I can't really pick a winner , fiesta and punto both had excellent suspension and damping, but fiesta felt quiter inside while absorbing bumps whereas punto was noisier

Re: Ford Fiesta Facelift Coming To India in 2014

I agree that Linea has slightly better handling than Fiesta. But these 2 cars are neck & neck in terms of handling. But while commuting in the city, I will be more happy with the fiesta. Fiesta feels light & nimble, while Linea is not as easy as fiesta to manoeuvre in city traffic. Linea has weight advantage which gives it better handling coupled with those 195 profile tyres. Linea with 1.6 MJD would make it a really nice car. And coming to the front seats of the fiesta, they are very narrow & kind of hugs the driver, but people with bigger personality might find it uncomfortable. Medium built like me find it very rewarding. If I had to choose a car in between these 2, it would be the Fiesta. Not because, I like fiesta but because it is actually ticking the right boxes for me. It is gives good mileage, easy to drive in city traffic & also handles well on the highway.

I personally will buy the fiesta , but by all means it's not a class leading car and the all kinds of claim which are made for it .
It's a nice sporty car and the advantage it has is good ride and handling and some unique looks .

Re: Ford Fiesta Facelift Coming To India in 2014

Yes :agree: with you, I would like to show you my earlier post regarding the same!

As Honda is out of my list, the only cars that I am looking out for is the new Fiat Linea 1.6 MJD & 2014 Ford Fiesta. Like I said earlier I am more inclined towards the fiesta, for my own self satisfaction I want to test drive the new Linea. I am curious to know how that car performs. Like 1989rs500 mentioned above, I would like to add that Ford Fiesta is light years ahead of VW Polo in ride quality (no offence to any VW owners ) It is entirely my perspective. Some one asked me, are you not going to buy the new Honda City for its tyre size ? I said I would bet my money on it if it can match the ride & handling of either Fiesta or Linea, Even if I upsize Honda's tyres to 185 I don't think I will get the ride & handling what Fiesta offers for that matter ! For me luxury means the ride & handling, now days you get gizmos (lesser the gizmos lesser the headache) even in smaller hatchbacks but what you don't get is the ride & handling, Again it is entirely my opinion. It's not just the 0-100 figures that impresses me, its also about 100-0 figures which I am very concerned about. Every person has their own taste, Honda city is not a bad car at all..It has good looks, mileage, backed by Honda's reliability & resale value. But if you are a car enthusiast like me, It's either Fiesta or Linea that puts a big smile on your face when you are behind the wheel. On the brighter side, I would also like to TD the new Honda city to form a genuine opinion.
And the only reason why I mentioned Fiesta & Linea is that they are best handling cars in C segment according to me, I don't mean other cars are bad & they don't appeal to enthusiasts. Different people, different cars, different tastes [:)] !!!

Re: Ford Fiesta Facelift Coming To India in 2014

The new Fiesta as of now is a totally messed up version, its not something I would buy even though I get it for 2 lakh Rs discount, simply because it dosent make sense, whereas all other entries in the segment makes sense, thats the biggest reason I am looking forward to the 2014 model, it seems a lot better than the current model from looks to interior to features and in almost every respect except for space it seems like its going to be better than current gen Fiesta
2014-15 is going to be really interesting for Ford aspirants as Ford will have to launch all 9 products by 2015 and only 3 are out now, 6 more to go in 1 year time, Hope Ford brings their best to India unlike stripped versions and cost cut versions of global models

Re: Ford Fiesta Facelift Coming To India in 2014

Don't worry Ford Certainly won't do any cost cutting in their C & D-segment cars. I am also waiting for the 2014 Ford Fiesta my friend [:)] . I am expecting good quality OEM tinted glasses, quality interiors & my Ford Touch with rear view camera as optional package. I am eagerly waiting to see what's in store for us from Ford. Probably we will be knowing it next month.
