Thanks. I don’t think it should be difficult to turn 1.6 into S form if one is keen to do it. The major technical difference is retuned ECU and suspension. Plus, 15” alloys. That’s it.

Yup. The suspension in the 1.6S and the other 1.6es are different. But ECU? How is it different?

Vipin

Ford Fiesta Classic 4th Service Experience

Ford-Fiesta-Fourth-Service.jpg

The fourth service was done last weekend. I took the car to Delhi Ford (Vasant Kunj) since I was looking to switch to a different workshop from a while. Being a weekend, the floor was packed with cars but their service advisor attended me quite well. After quoting an estimate of Rs.7,000, he settled for Rs.5,000 after negotiation. I was still not convinced. He also informed the car will be serviced only by 7 PM which turned out to be another deal breaker. I headed back to Riddhi Ford, Okhla. Just what I expected, the experience was unpleasant. Me and some more customers were waiting for half an hour but no one from Riddhi Ford was bothered to even ask what we’re here for, leave alone preparing a job card. The lunch time in middle extended the wait upto 45 minutes and we felt waiting like idiots.

The customers (including myself) lost their temperament and created havoc at the workshop. Of course, their manager now had a reason to be worried. He allotted a service advisor to each of us and the work on our cars started in no time. He often came to the workshop to check out what’s going on and instructed the mechanics. The overall workmanship was reasonable enough. Anyways, all’s well that ends well. The best part is that the bill came out to be far lesser than what I had expected – Rs.2,755. This includes disc brakes checkup, oil top-ups, air filter and A/C filter cleaning etc. I’d have excluded the washer fluid from the bill but it was too late to inform them. So far, Fiesta is running like a well-oiled machine and I wish the same continues for many more miles to go.

At times these kind of things work very well. if that pic shows your car, then Kudo's Sir you have maintained it quite well

These things might work well but I felt like dealing in a government office. I have also heard of similar instances in Tata workshops but it’s something I didn’t expect from Ford.

That’s indeed my car.

Quick update. Fiesta has now covered well-over 7,000 Kms. The car is running fine save for a squeak from seatbelt buckle and excess condensation from driver’s side AC vent.

350Z , my Fiesta Classic TDCI is showing the engine oil sign when running on low RPM's and it goes off when the revv's go beyond 1200 RPM and running on low rpm's the car has got switched off on its own a couple of times too like while standing on a traffic light. Even when the engine is running idle it shows the sign and it goes off the moment you accelerate beyond 1200-1300rpm. I checked the engine oil level and it was almost full, so what could be the reason? Car has run about 28k kms in around 2 and half years and was last serviced in April this year. Planning to take it to workshop in a day or two whenever I get time.

Hi Gaurav. Possible suspect is the oil pump or the pressure switch. Please get the car inspected and let us know.

Hello 350Z, Hi xover, Raja, Asfer, Zinam & every one ! Back after a long time.

Actually I am so slow & bad in typing, it takes lots of energy & time to post an even very short post & also try to maintain the standard you fellow TAIans' had set. But I had to write this post as 350Z had mentioned in the post no.227 that Fiesta 1.6 runs out of breath on 120 kmph! First Congratulations & lots of wishes for your 1.6 sir!

It's almost unbelievable for me because I do 140 easily with Xenon in highways.

Please explain 138 bhp/1.85 ton vs 100bhp/1.1ton + petrol. Waiting ......

Thanks & Regards,

ROY

I guess Vibhor wrote this:
> Fiesta Classic runs out of breath beyond 120 Kmph which happens at around 3000 RPM.
Actually '3000 RPM' is the key word. After trying my hand on this gem of a car a couple of times I can bet that this is the machine which has got the performance that can rival a Honda City and the sweet revving 1.6l engine can make it easily touch upto 150-160 kph without breaking into sweat.
In other words, vibbs buddy rev it upto 5000 rpm at least in your next drive(I know you won't do that easily) and you will be surprised to see how strongly this motor actually takes the car to even 150-160 kph and then it starts breaking into sweat. Cross the 180 mark at least once dear, you will return back with a metre wide grin on your face.

Thanks Vipul,

For your kind words, as it gives me lots of consolation & hope, because I also drool for the cheapest pleasure machine.

Hopefully 350Z cautiously trying to running in the machine.

Regards...

I love winters. This is time of the year when Fiesta becomes more wallet friendly with A/C switched off. On a different note, 5th service is due next month. I'll update then.

Am seeing this kind of recalls very frequently in ford vehicles. Why? Quality check is that poor?
Some issues emerge only after long term use as in recent case where a specific batch of units outsourced by a supplier turned out to be defective. However, as an owner of a Ford car, it also wouldn't be wrong for me to admit that Ford India’s quality control team is not the best one around (Eg: http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...or-workmanship-ford-manufacturing-plants.html).

Ford Fiesta Classic 5th Service Experience

The 5th service (2 Years or 40,000 Kms) was done last weekend by Riddhi Ford. There’s nothing to complaint about their service this time since entire job was carried out flawlessly and car was returned as scheduled. A week earlier, Fiesta also had an unexpected trip to Agra through Yamuna Expressway. That’s when this car made me realize what it is capable of. In short, buying Fiesta is certainly one of the best decisions of my life. [thumbsup]

Servicing a Ford is expensive? Think again. Comes out as much (or even cheaper) than your regular hatchback.
