i had same kind of problem in my M800's front bumper [Black one, not the body colored] and some portion was gone inside. When I checked with MASS they said the entire bumper has to be replaced.

When I checked with local workshop guys they did it in Rs.200. Simply removed the bumper. Heated it with some tool and pushed it from inside. Tatadang. it came to normal shape without any damage.

So I suggest the decision you have taken for that small dent is right.

You know what; I too had a similar accident in 800 long ago. It was again a Corrola (Corollas are a bad omen for me). Just that, taillamp was damaged too. Local mechanic is also demanding too much I believe. I’m looking for someone in Delhi who has expertise in fixing these kind of damages. I don’t think it should cost more than 500 bucks?

The damage is not so much, usually when the bumper is bent local workshops use a simple method.

They remove the bumper, pour hot water where the dent is located so that the plastic gets softer. Finally they push it back into shape. Here as you said painting is not required.

Why not try this method, if not satisfied go with Ford..

I’m quite sure the bumper will be back in actual shape. Though a bigger concern is that topmost part of it has slightly bent and developed thin cracks. I’ll upload a clear image.

Got the dent fixed this evening for 400 bucks. The cracks are minute and not visible unless seen closely. I'll be waxing and polishing the car tomorrow.

Fiesta crossed 6,000 Kms mark sometime ago. Fourth service is scheduled for this month. I’m considering switching the service center to Delhi Ford (Vasant Kunj).

Congrats for the 6k mark. What about the bumper cracks? How did you get them repaired?

Also post some fresh pics of your car.

Cracks are on the paint surface, not on the bumper. They’re too minute so I have decided to leave them like that for now.

Also post some fresh pics of your car.
Yes, sure. I will do a nice photo shoot after getting the car serviced.

Congrats on 6000km on your fiesta. Do you use any other vehicle as this ODO reading looks be very less in 1-1/2 years
Before December 2012, I was using Maruti 800 so the running was more or less split between both the cars. I’m now looking for a used hatchback.

Hey 350Z

I had no idea that you owned a Ford Fiesta 1.6. You must be enjoying driving the car, whenever you drive it that is, considering your usage is low [glasses]
I have driven the Ford Fiesta 1.6S and I maintain that it is the BEST driver's car I have driven below Rs. 15l OTR. The only other car I can think of that comes close overall is the Skoda Laura 1.8TSi. But the Fiesta plastered a better smile on my face. If only Ford still sold the 1.6S. One hell of a car and I would've pushed my dad to buy it now without even thinking twice.

Regards,
Vipin

Thanks. I don’t think it should be difficult to turn 1.6 into S form if one is keen to do it. The major technical difference is retuned ECU and suspension. Plus, 15” alloys. That’s it.
