Re: Ford Fiesta 2014: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

I have a query, I have seen that Fiesta qualifies for 4yr/60k EW (extended warranty) on Ford India website. I don't find anything regarding 4yr EW on the dealers pamphlet. Did anybody opt for 4yr EW, please share the amount quoted. Do we have to avail warranty via dealer or via fords website ? I highly recommend extended warranty for anyone who don't cross 60,000 kms in 4 yrs.

hi, I also own an ecosport diesel and my second service has completed just 2 days back. after service, I noticed loss of power in 3rd and 4th gear and lack of pick up. the engine noise was also more and engine feels strained when revved. i called my service head who is a very nice guy and he asked me to bring the vehicle.I took the car to service centre and they reprogrammed my ECU.NOW THE PICK UP IS GOOD AND CAR RUNS SMOOTHLY.so no need to worry, all you need is a good ford service centre and good technitians who knows their job well.

hi, yes, its kairali ford. the service head Mr. Arun.p
Thats a good news as I was too looking for someone who was technically sound at Kairali Ford, most of the people who took care of my Figo were just mediocre, seems Arun.P has the little bit extra

Hi All, Greetings!
This is my first post in any auto forum.Came across very good reviews of the new fiesta in this thread. It was great to see some new fiesta owners as well.
I am planning to buy this beauty in Bangalore.Took the TD many times with full load of beefy friends through narrow streets filled with their lovable humps.Took her to the highway for a cruise, squeezed through the city traffic....It never disappointed.Only doubt was about the ground clearance. But with full load it never hit anywhere. The salesman said it is 156 mm but when i chatted wit the ford rep he said it is 170 on two occasions. Ford rep seems to be right even though, does any one have any concrete value? another BIG disappointment is with the way ford is treating this beauty. The dealers does not have any colors except Silver and white!I was looking for any dark color but they cant give me any date for that.SO thinking of taking delivery of the white in the worst case as I need the car urgently.Did the folks already bought get any freebies or corporate discount? How is the performance of the car so far ?Do you think it is gonna sell ?Hos the high speed stability? Is the coclor scarcity is all over ?or Just the dealers playing around ? I am confused and want to make a choice asap as I dont have a car now.The other choice is not so exciting... it is the Honda amaze SX-IDTEC :-( .. Please help!

Re: Ford Fiesta 2014: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Its not what we desire for that we get all the time, but this time I think its completely Fords mistake here, why the hell is that a face lift is launched if they cant deliver the car with desired options to customer, even the against order Polo GT TSI can be had without this much problems, cant understand what Ford India is thinking and doing!
Seriously doubt whether they are planning to sell this car!No stock,No TD car,No info,No displays,No Ads,No dark colors,No confirmed booking period..Are they gonna kill this beauty ? Happened to speak to one of the senior managers in a dealership about the purchase ,he said that ford just wanted the presence in this segment so they launched it .Ford is not concentrating on the volumes he said. May not be true though. But there are some serious problems with the production or the supply chain!

Hello and welcome to TAI
From what i know the new fiesta was first thought out to be released as a hatch back in india, they even tested a mule here in india, but then the decision of selling as hatch was soon withdrawn with the demise of honda jazz which despite being a great car became an uber flop
So ford resolved to release fiesta as sedan with highlight as technology and that turned out to be an even bigger disaster,2 years later ecosport came for the rescue of the brand and its still the pony deiving ford forward, again fiesta sedan was a ? For Ford itself, since there is the figo sedan in the 6-8 lakh price bracket re launching fiesta in premium hatch segment will again kill fiesta because the upcoming figo sedan is more spacious and family friendly unlike new face lift fiesta
So Ford launched fiesta as sedan itself with building the brand in mind, cheap drivers car with true european personality and best in class in car technology and safety.

Ford wont kill fiesta sedan anytime soon, globally ford will replace the current fiesta chassis with a new one thats getting its roots built up in germany rather than UK, still the major components like engine, gearbox, transmission, tech, accessories are pretty much same for the upcoming 2016 chassis so no worries at all, about face lift fiesta in our country, you can buy the car with full confidence as fiesta shares more than 95% of its parts with ecosport which ford has already placed as a long term partner for ford in indian market .so go for the fiesta if your heart says, its the ride for you.

Re: Ford Fiesta 2014: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

@Roadie Is it Honda Amaze or Honda City SV iDtech? Ford Fiesta is a C-segment sedan in India, why choose B-segment car when you are already looking to purchase a C-segment ?
Second, Ford Fiesta won't sell in good numbers. But city is selling 7,000 units per month consistently since it's launch. Because a majority of Indians have a different mindset and their requirements are different. Some people want space, some want just reliability and mileage, some buy just because Honda has a very good brand value. And some people choose to buy city because it outshines all the other cars in sales. So, something's are logical and practical and some are not.

But as a drivers point of view, all those that are given by Honda city doesn't appeal to me. So, you should first know your requirements. Ask yourself, what do you need in a car ? Are you the person who do out station trips with family very often? Then Honda city is for you. If you are the only one driving the car for most of the time and just love to drive for the fun of it, then Fiesta is for you.

You need not worry about maintaining a Fiesta due to its poor sales. Its the Fiesta's chassis and engine that is there in the Ecosport. And almost all the electronics are shared. You can go with what 1989rs500 has said.

And coming to color options, there won't be any color options except white, grey and silver until December. Which I read somewhere in this forum.

And high speed stability of the Fiesta and cornering is just amazing. The NVH levels and the steering feedback is something that other cars in this segment cannot match. It even outshines some D-segment cars in this aspect.

Statutory warning: If you come to this thread and ask for a suggestion, then you will always get either Fiesta or Ecosport as your answer [:)] but we will try to be as unbiased as possible. So you better, also ask non-Ford enthusiasts in TAI forum.

Well said @Volksjager, I had an excellent chat with Bob a few days back and he told me about the 2016 Fiesta which is getting designed in Germany, he too has limited knowledge on the new chassis but from what he has heard he reckons the new FWD chassis is set to benchmark the current Fiesta itself as it wasnt out performed by any other for the past 6 years
Ford has finally decided to give priority to interior space in addition to dynamics
The current chassis actually sacrifices width for aerodynamic spindle shape and he says thats why Fiesta hatch has a trapezoidal profile when viewed from back,ie close to the ideal spindle shape to pierce air, the same shape can be seen in Fiat Punto as well
High strength Boron steel will be used more in the new chassis
The B pillar will be super strengthened as in Ford B-Max to get maximum safety in case of side impact
As of now the 2016 chassis is planned only as a hatch back
The new fiesta car wont reach market till 2017

Wow, thats great information. Punto was designed by the same person who designed Maserati. People including myself think like dumb that the trapezoidal grill was induced to give aston martinish look but totally unaware of aerodynamic logic behind it. Even auto reviewers kept saying that Ford induced this aston martin which improved the look. But what I believe is, any new iteration they will improve aerodynamics of the car. Thats why newer cars will look a little crappier than before. They are giving more importance to aerodynamics but also designers are trying to maintain the look.
But anyways thats a great piece of information. Thanks [:)]

Yep, there are lots of devils in the detail that we still dont know, like the mirrors of the Fiesta, looks simple but even that has some part to play at high speed aerodynamics

also ratio of front to rear track in most FWD cars is same but in Fiesta the front track is slightly wider to create better grip pattern when stability is lost, since Fiestas front end is light and pointy the rear may will fishtail more when under heavy braking,to avoid this the hatch back design has weight concentrated to some where below the front drivers seat so that fish tailing can be controlled ,usually this kind of aerodynamics are followed in sports cars specially RWD racing cars
But Ford has done this in Fiesta in such a way that from the looks the car feels like front and rear has same track, wider front track means less under steer as well.

So there is lot going on inside Fiesta than a regular FWD passenger car

Thanks Bro!..I have almost made up my mind..Tomorrow I am gonna see it again with family it .But sadly the color I wanted is not available-Panther Black but Diamond white is there.Silver seems not appealing to this car to me.May get some RPS and the basic kit free but that cannot make up for the compromise i may have to make in terms of color.:-(..[frustration]Seems black is not in production. Some dealers even said they are not taking bookings for the Trend variant. This is one is in stock white.

Ya you know what here in Trivandrum we dont even have a test car yet and the showroom isnt even bothered about it, so its good that at least @Rodie can see the car in person
