It also talks about same engines/transmissions being carried out. Not sure about the veracity of the news though. If it is then I have to be ready for new petrol AT top end

It will be really sad if the new 1.5 I3 Engine manufactured in India and exported is not part of the facelift for India

Thats also one of my concern but as per most reports Ford has ditched the old 1.5l i4 as a whole because the new mill is even more easier to manufacture and can be done in the same tooling factory as the ones for the old 1.6,1.5,2.0 TiVCTs and the Getrag Dual clutch gearbox that Ford used was a contract that Ford had with Getrag, now its put off and so its highly likely we also will get the new 1.5l i3+ 6F15 torque converter AT combination.

Yep, I dont think Ford will do such big blunder , any way lets hope they bring it as soon as possible

Yup just read an article on the premium sedan to come to India in 2020, it mentions dragon family is going to be launched in the next few weeks. I hope there is a Dragon 1.2 p version for Figo and Aspire.

Yes there is one and unofficial specs has been leaked too through a Brazilian website which says 94 HP and 116 NM torque , its a 3 cylinder motor and will be powering the facelift Ford Aspire and Figo hatch back by 2018.

I have booked titanium diesel month ago, yet to get allotment. Should I wait for the facelift? Is the September 15th launch is confirmed? Dealer is telling, no such thing.

If waiting is not an issue I say would say wait, waiting will reward with a much better Ecosport than the current one, I am too not sure if they will launch it by September 15th, probably they will arrange the media drive on September 15th and will introduce the new Dragon petrol engines then and will launch the Ecosport faccelift by December or so for customers, but its almost sure that it wont get till 2018 for new Ecosport to get to Indian customers hands

I hope the current Ecoboost 1.0 is replaced by 1.2 Liter Ecoboost, basically a Turbocharged version off the 1.2 Dragon.

Wow.. quite a buzz about new 3cylinder engine.

Wouldn't it be low on refinement which is a part n parcel of any 3 cylinders motor?

Re: Ford EcoSport Facelift 2017 Exclusive Spyshots

I have I3 Ecoboost and apart from 0-5Km City 2nd gear turbolag, it is a car which I enjoy driving, inspite of a small 1.0 engine driving a 1260KG car much heavier than Duster, Sedans etc. So based on that experience I would say 1.2 and 1.5 Engines developed based on it will be wonderful.

While 3 cyclinders have a problem, the use of unbalanced drive shafts and pulleys etc have been a major advancement.

Re: Ford EcoSport Facelift 2017 Exclusive Spyshots

I hope they retain the vfm pricing for Ecosport
seems the 10-25L space is the hottest space right now, best to wait until September if anyone is eyeing this space imho

Kaptur, Nexon, Ecosport, Brezza , Carlino, HR-V etc are incoming

Re: Ford EcoSport Facelift 2017 Exclusive Spyshots

The EcoSport is already at least 60k costlier than the Brezza. The upcoming Nexon is expected to undercut the Brezza. How will the facelift EcoSport fare in terms of pricing ? Can Ford afford to price it higher than the outgoing model ? Also will there be any other differences in the space available inside and the suspension setup and ride quality ? Will the firm ride change to a plusher ride ?

Actually an i3 dsoent mean its refinement should be low, if an engine can resonate at a lower frequency than its blocks natural frequency the engine will be smooth as any other engine except at some particular rev range , the ecoboost engines have an inherently imbalanced fly wheel to counter the lack of 4th cylinders balancing rebound,
The 1.0 ecoboost in current Ford Ecosport is a good example, same way Balenos new Booster jet to use this setup to achieve smoothness, still I will agree that it wont be as smooth as an i4, but it will be too close to call.

kaptur, Carlino,HRV even if launched will be priced above Ecosport , Kaptur will be almost as costly as Creta
And regarding VFM I think Ford still has a strong car with Ecosport, one must note that Ford is fighting Indias biggest automotive giant Maruti head on with Ecosport and the competition gets even more tough because of new WRV , and yet Ecosport consistently records 2500-3500 cars sales per month showing incredible resistance despite having just 1/6 times number of sales and service outlets across India compared to Maruti and far less brand image than what Honda has in India
So Ford has garnered some trust and power among customers with Ecosport, all it needs todo is launch the facelift with a BANG,
Its stated that the Ecosport facelift will be 15,000-40,000 RS more expensive from current model depending on variants, meaning a 25000-75000 Rs increase in on road price but as per most Brazilian media reviews and test drive reports its WORTH because most Brazilian reviews rate new facelift Ecosport even a better buy than the larger Creta after the facelift.
Tata Nexon is an uber interesting and frankly a worthy and brave rival to Ecosport, I really want Tata to pull the numbers with the Nexon, this is Tatas next level engineering and it deserves full credit and big applause.

The new Ecosport will be costlier than current model by 25000-75000 Rs on road, regarding SPACE there is no improvement and suspension of Ecoaport will remain taut and slightly on the firmer side, and I think its a MUST for a car that has a SPORT embedded on its name rather than being a soft rider like most of its competition

here is the initial test drive impressions of Ecosport from Brazilian media test drives and instrumented tests
http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...cosport-facelift-2017-exclusive-spyshots.html

So Ford has taken care of the bouncy rear suspension setup of current model, so I believe this will be same for India as well making it even better than current one

And here is the interior of new Ecosport facelift for India spied testing

So its true indeed India is getting new SYNC 3, new speakers, new steering wheel from Ford Focus MK III, new interior design and finish almost same as that from one in Brazil
Here is just 1 video that takes a deep tour into the Ecosport facelift Titanium from Brazil

Re: Ford EcoSport Facelift 2017 Exclusive Spyshots

Other opportunity Ford has with Ecosport is to launch Automatic transmission with all safety features like 6 airbags + ESC + Hill Hold (all of this is available in current) + Cruise Control + reliable torque converter auto transmission (which is missing now) + new engine with 16-17 KMPL fuel efficiency. At present no other compact SUV/Sedan below 20L offering this combination. I booked Ecosport AT 3 times at least and cancelled because of the unreliable auto transmission. Ford has opportunity fill this space and sell in good numbers. I like Ecosport very much but waiting for the above combination. In fact they should launch with both Petrol and Diesel auto transmissions to fill this white space.
