Re: Ford EcoSport Facelift 2017 Exclusive Spyshots
Wow.. quite a buzz about new 3cylinder engine.
Wouldn't it be low on refinement which is a part n parcel of any 3 cylinders motor?
Actually an i3 dsoent mean its refinement should be low, if an engine can resonate at a lower frequency than its blocks natural frequency the engine will be smooth as any other engine except at some particular rev range , the ecoboost engines have an inherently imbalanced fly wheel to counter the lack of 4th cylinders balancing rebound,
The 1.0 ecoboost in current Ford Ecosport is a good example, same way Balenos new Booster jet to use this setup to achieve smoothness, still I will agree that it wont be as smooth as an i4, but it will be too close to call.
I hope they retain the vfm pricing for Ecosport
seems the 10-25L space is the hottest space right now, best to wait until September if anyone is eyeing this space imho
Kaptur, Nexon, Ecosport, Brezza , Carlino, HR-V etc are incoming
kaptur, Carlino,HRV even if launched will be priced above Ecosport , Kaptur will be almost as costly as Creta
And regarding VFM I think Ford still has a strong car with Ecosport, one must note that Ford is fighting Indias biggest automotive giant Maruti head on with Ecosport and the competition gets even more tough because of new WRV , and yet Ecosport consistently records 2500-3500 cars sales per month showing incredible resistance despite having just 1/6 times number of sales and service outlets across India compared to Maruti and far less brand image than what Honda has in India
So Ford has garnered some trust and power among customers with Ecosport, all it needs todo is launch the facelift with a BANG,
Its stated that the Ecosport facelift will be 15,000-40,000 RS more expensive from current model depending on variants, meaning a 25000-75000 Rs increase in on road price but as per most Brazilian media reviews and test drive reports its WORTH because most Brazilian reviews rate new facelift Ecosport even a better buy than the larger Creta after the facelift.
Tata Nexon is an uber interesting and frankly a worthy and brave rival to Ecosport, I really want Tata to pull the numbers with the Nexon, this is Tatas next level engineering and it deserves full credit and big applause.
The EcoSport is already at least 60k costlier than the Brezza. The upcoming Nexon is expected to undercut the Brezza. How will the facelift EcoSport fare in terms of pricing ? Can Ford afford to price it higher than the outgoing model ? Also will there be any other differences in the space available inside and the suspension setup and ride quality ? Will the firm ride change to a plusher ride ?
The new Ecosport will be costlier than current model by 25000-75000 Rs on road, regarding SPACE there is no improvement and suspension of Ecoaport will remain taut and slightly on the firmer side, and I think its a MUST for a car that has a SPORT embedded on its name rather than being a soft rider like most of its competition
here is the initial test drive impressions of Ecosport from Brazilian media test drives and instrumented tests

So Ford has taken care of the bouncy rear suspension setup of current model, so I believe this will be same for India as well making it even better than current one
And here is the interior of new Ecosport facelift for India spied testing

So its true indeed India is getting new SYNC 3, new speakers, new steering wheel from Ford Focus MK III, new interior design and finish almost same as that from one in Brazil
Here is just 1 video that takes a deep tour into the Ecosport facelift Titanium from Brazil
