Re: Flip key mod job!

What's the durability of the form-factor of these flip keys? Any feedback, do they look like original or cheap plastic?
Also is there any same vendor near NOIDA area?
The durability of the flip is alomst like original flip key provided by the manufacturer.
I have been using the flipkey from a year, no problems faced so far[:D]
I have turned my normal hyundai Eon Key with Autocop Remote into a 2-Button Hyundai Flip Key.
I turned my normal keys into flip key from Harison Keys, Panchkula, Haryana.
Here's the link to there website.

Here is an interesting page i found in FB , thought of sharing it here also because i think many of us are crazy about these flip keys. These people are converting our normal remote locking into flip keys for Rs.2k. I find the offer tempting and VFM!

But the thing is we should courier them the keys of our cars(atleast in my case) , is there any pitfall in this as i am sending my keys to an unknown person else where?

Here is the link:https://www.facebook.com/FlipKeysIndia
Definitely i will not sent my keys to some one whome i dont know, as they will have your car key and your address to ship it back, it will be dangerous if it falls in wrong hand.

Hi Gobinath M
Your concern is genuine that what If key is misused/duplicated but most of the newer cars available in market have an immobiliser chip in their key which are not easily duplicated. They require car in addition to key to be simultaneously present to make a duplicate of that chip but still their might be little possibility depending upon make of your car which don't have immobiliser.

You haven't mentioned about your car but for most of the Cars Flip Key can also be made on DIY basis. You can just order the Flip Key and assemble it yourself, For Example, If you have Toyota Etios / Liva then here is the procedure.

or you can also make Flip Key easily for many cars by watching the following videos (You can find many other on YouTube):

Although you'll be required to take help from some local locksmith in converting your key to a flip key or at least getting new key cut but you'll be assure of safety of your car as whole process has been completed in front of your eyes.

Technically Yes, but Marketing is not permitted in forum (and I respect the rules of this forum which helps maintain quality of posts.)

I will give you generic answer and guidance in getting your key converted to a flip key. You can get the flip key from any online store or eCommerce website (Aliexpress, Ebay, Amazon or an other)

Here are generics steps you need to follow:

1. Some Honda Flip Key requires sensor / immobilizer chip to be used. You can use the chip from your non-remote key (If extra sensor is required). See Video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiNaotDpVOY

2. Here is the procedure for making Honda Flip Key. See Video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEY8bQ3GJ18

3. If remote needs to be matched again then it can be easily done manually. Here is a detailed video for Remote Matching.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwTfV3sJ8os

But I will suggest you to get it done from some local locksmith since lot of complication is involved in Honda Flip Key. Not all flip keys are equal, they may require slightly different procedure to assemble them. Above video will be helpful in getting an idea about how to proceed. [:)]

Hi Harison Keys,

Welcome to TAI.

What will be the cost to convert the Honda City (i-Dtec) 2014 Key
New Honda City cars have large size remote circuits, see photos here

I haven't seen any Flip Key that can accommodate remote so big in it. May be in future you might be able to find Flip Key for Honda City i-Dtec but currently its unavailable.

i think there was a solution given for this particular problem by powerpacked that you can give your friend's address as the shipping address and inturn ask your friend to ship it to you. Thats a safe bet[:D]

Thanks for your appreciation

Not just Flip Keys, There are also slider keys available in market which can be made easily. They are mostly useful for Bikes and Scooters (without any remote and immobilizer)

Your concern is right but these days nearly all modern cars have immobilizer in them. Its a small glass or ceramic chip which has some unique codes identifiable by the car and can be only copied if car is present at the time of copying of that chip.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VY4SZdfJIBs

Immobiliser/Sensor can be copied by 2 ways:

Cloning
Its process of making a duplicate key without letting the ECM (Car's computer) know that a duplicate key is being prepared for the car. ECM remains unaware as there is no physical contact being made with ECM during this process. See Video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6lf8QZHVSM

Key Programming
In key programming, a programmer is connected to ECM via OBD port, which then communicates with car's computer and saves a new key in its memory. See Video:

Hello Harisonkeys,
I wanted to know if my Honda Brio normal key which does not have factory fitted remote lock can be converted into Flip or integrated key with remote, which is available in Honda Brio's higher variants like S MT or VMT.
Kindly suggest.
Thanks

I did this Flipkey for my Beat. I too had the same fear of the people knowing my address and could trace the vehicle. But later thought positively and ordered.
Can you share form where you did for Beat? Mine is 2013 LT Petrol version. What is the cost involved & how is the overall review?
