Re: Planning to change shoes for my Zen Estilo (Lxi)

One question to all, do I have to fill normal air in these tyres or rather can I fill normal air ? If not, then what would be the ideal frequency to fill Nitrogen in these tyres ? Any recommendation ?

I would suggest to stick to normal air. Advantages of filling up Nitrogen are not too many, may be that you have to less frequently check the pressure. When I got new set for my ride, I checked and didnt get any positive for Nitrogen fill.

Waiting to hear what others say on this.

I had also tried nitrogen. The funny thing is the system intakes normal air and extracts nitrogen. I don't think it's 100% nitrogen (sounds scam to me), unless nitrogen is filled from nitrogen gas cylinders directly.

End result -- Not worth.

Woohoo Michelin, Great Decision mate, congrats !

Ok Nitrogen, hmmm. I use Nitrogen from past 1 year or so, it costs me around Rs. 25 per tyre per month, so to sum Rs.100 per month, BUT i'm a VERY satisified person,

I really feel the difference with nitrogen, (touchwood) i haven't had any punctures from a year, the tyres are always cold and not fired up like in case of normal air, the pressure reduces slowly as compared to normal air, becuase of the nitrogen molecules being bigger than normal air..

But remember, Nitrogen isn't pure in case of tyres, it's 83% nitrogen mixed with 17% of air, it has some scientific knowledge behind it, of which i'm not relli concerned about.

And great thing is in case it's been around a month or more since you last filled up nitrogen, and now you are on highway and you feel low on tyre pressure, you can always fill in the normal air and run without any problems. but ensure it that next time when you go to air pump, flatten the tyre and re-fill it from 0.

Main thing now, i have Yoko 13"chers (A-Drive) i'm suggested a 33PSI of pressure in nitrogen, so if you have 12"chers i would say 30 or 32max. would be perfect for you.

Atmosphere already contains 78% nitrogen and I don't feel that extra 22% would make much of any difference. Initially I had my ride filled with nitrogen but very soon realised there are was no much advantage of it and was turning out to be costly affair.

I get better mileage and the ride has improved. Plus most of the air filling machines in our petrol stations aren't calibrated accurately. Less trips to fill air and more precise filling at rs 10 a tire once a month. go for nitrogen and peace of mind.

Hey buddy, to get a feedback after filling nitrogen, you can only know the difference when you do long drives.
I have found it useful & my TPMS shows the result of filling nitrogen, which remains within 34.5 psi on TPMS, where as with normal air it used to go around 38 psi.
And in summers and long drives you will get to know the difference, if not in Winter.

Oh man skipped this part! [thumbsup]
Air is actually 78% nitrogen, so even if it is 83% or 85%, there is only an increase of 5-7%. I am not too sure how it would have much of an effect. But then I have not tried it myself so cant say for sure.

To my knowledge, Pure Nitrogen for tyres should contain 99% of Nitrogen... Or at least anything above 95%. This is generally displayed in the Nitorgen Inflator.

ok, i think i'm the first one to give negative feedback for nitrogen, I've been using Ritz from past 3-4 months with front(35psi) and rear(33psi) with normal air, last week while filling diesel noticed FREE nitrogen fill up at the gas station, so after reading a lot about nitrogen fill ups, i've filled it up.

Now my experience is the worst, even a small speed breaker feels like a huge hump, and wify comparing the car with there companies worst cab !!!

Instead of air , there is nitrogen at a same pressure.

nitrogen dont expand on running that much compared to air.

the culprit in yours in high pressure.
fill 30 psi in all [ high in some standard though]
