Thanks Buddy. After a couple of discussions with Ford India, they again asked me to visit the dealership for some more checks as I out rightly denied for another Mileage Test. I will visit them sometime next week and discuss on these issues. Let's see how it would work.
Visited Metro Ford yesterday and here is the update.

Jerk while Changing Gears: Tried with both mine and another Figo back to back numerous times. I can clearly feel and demonstrate the difference in both, however, the Service Manager & CRM aren't feeling anything anything as such. As per them, this is normal. I felt, they too realise what I am pointing at, when both the cars were driven back to back. But still, they don't want to accept it, don't know for what reason. Maybe, they couldn't probably figure out the cause of the issue or possibly don't know the solution.

I gave up try convincing them.

Excessive Engine Oil Consumption: Opened the Engine Cover and found oil stain / sludge in PCV. They have taken a pic of it and sending it to Ford to check on the warranty replacement of the part. However, the CRM was pretty confident that he will get the approval and already have ordered for the part. Should get it by Tuesday / Wednesday.

Here is the pic.

Now here are my questions.

  1. What would have caused this leak?
  2. Is replacing PCV safe? Concerned as it's a component of the engine.
  3. What are the impacts of such leak in PCV? Any direct / indirect impact with FE?

Have they checked the turbo, a clogged PCV can cause the turbo to fail.Have they checked the intercooler?

Changing the PCV is safe.

He only removed the Turbo Hose and checked for any oil stains. Nothing found.

Would be able to address my other questions quoted below too?

  1. What would have caused this leak?
  2. What are the impacts of such leak in PCV? Any direct / indirect impact with FE?

I Will leave this for Codename47, he would be able to provide a better explanation.

Oil consumption will increase if the PCV is clogged.

Did they check the Intercooler for oil?

Thanks Jarpickle. So that has no impact on FE.

Sorry, I missed about IC in the previous post. I saw some posts in FB that Figo doesn't have IC.

This kind of cost cutting really sucks in the long run.

How long before the warranty expires?

Update: Got the PCV Valve replaced under warranty. However, the bill reads is differently. Can anyone help me understand the same?

After the replacement, had a short trail run. Though I didn't find any major difference, but the Throttle Response was much better than earlier. However, the other Figo we drove for comparison earlier had a very good and linear power delivery, without any lag. Anyways, need to test mine completely after the replacement. Will keep the thread updated.

Nothing yet. As per the last concall with Ford & Dealer, they will discuss with the technical team and revert. Maybe, they must be waiting for an auspicious day.

Hi Codename47 - Any comments?

Figoian, please edit the picture.Your car's details are all visible in the top portion of the bill.

The Valve cover and Cylinder head cover are one and the same. One is the cost of the part and one is the cost of labour.Have they installed a new valve cover? No mention of the PCV anywhere.

That's my question as well. What is Cylinder Head Cover? Why would they change this instead of PCV? Do you get any idea? Or probably, it's mentioned wrongly in the bill or something?

Maybe they needed to open the valve/cylinder head cover to get to the PCV valve and also to clean it up.

He should have mentioned the PCV valve someplace.Maybe the valve cover might be the PCV valve cover.

Btw, sublet operation means that job was done some place else like a machine shop/lathe and not in house.

You need to clarify what did they do and what was involved.Ask for the part number of the actual PCV valve.

Thanks Jarpickle. But I don't see the "Edit" button the quotes... [cry]

Here is the pic shared by another Figoian in FB. As per him, they would have replaced the entire Cylinder Head Cover maybe because, PCV could be a part of it.

Also, when I checked it under hood, I too believe what he mentioned must be true. Please check these pics.
