Finally, all the excitement is now going to be uncovered soon enough, Our pal at IAB speculates that T-Jet will also be available with some additional features like leather seats and rain sensing wipers, which are currently not present in regular Linea. But let’s wait and watch. A statement by Fiat Official:

“Yes, Fiat will launch the Linea T-Jet in Mumbai on 8th October. Bookings will be taken in a phased manner. It begins in Mumbai and Pune, followed by Delhi, Chennai, etc. Production has begun as we have to send the cars to our dealers in time for its launch.”

Although feature-enriched and more powerful Fiat Linea 1.4 T-jet is all set for nation-wide launch on 8 Oct 2010, still there are no print/TV ads/teasers/commercials. Perhaps, Fiat India wants to spring a surprise to all.[;)] I only wish that Fiat India's marketing strategy doesn't get back-fired this time.

Wasnt it the same for Punto 90 BHP?

Fiat knows that only auto enthusiasts will buy this car, and almost every car enthusiast has a Computer and knows how to access Google.

Yes 11+ L looks more to me, hope it will be priced at ~1.5L more on current Linea Emotion Pack. Having said that remember "Linea T-jet is the first car in India in this segment or below to feature a turbo charged petrol engine.".
I heard it has 0-100KMPH in 11.xx sec., so certainly this car is made for enthusiasts.
As 350z mentioned, and confirmed by motoroids, new Linea will have leather upholstery, rain-sensing wipers, Hill Hold Assist (HBA) and 16 inch alloy wheels etc.

Nice to see its matches the performance for enthusiasts.

Some points from carwale -

  • 16” multi-spoke alloy wheel wears meaty 205/55 R16 rubber.
  • Increased the ground clearance to 170mm from 161mm.
  • Rectangular-chrome exhaust tip.
  • High-quality imported leather upholstery.
  • New rotary air-con compressor & reworked fan speed.
  • The torque produced by the Linea T-Jet is best-in-class with the closest petrol competitor in this segment producing close to 150Nm.

Also read this, if they do follow this, the customer experience will change for sure.
In the initial stages of its launch, the Linea T-Jet will available only in Delhi, Mumbai and Pune. Fiat wants to concentrate on better customer service and overall presentation at all their touchpoints, since the Linea T-jet is a rather niche product and Fiat customers need a different level of service than they are currently used to in India. Showrooms will be renovated to offer a premium brand experience, and the customers will be received by a well-trained executive – a hostess – who will walk them through the product features apart from offering them Italian Coffee – for a truly Italian experience! The customer will also get a test drive of approximately 5kms which will include an open stretch of 1km, so that they can experience the power and torque of the T-Jet engine. Fiat India will also make its customers feel special post the purchase of their T-Jet, by sending them a special bottle of wine delivered to their home in a special Fiat Wine case! With a renewed focus on the customer and brand experience, Fiat India is now raising the game with the T-Jet.

some points worth mentioning -

1. Linea petrol had a GC of 165mm.
2. honda city is 116bhp and has a torque of 147nm that too at a much higher rpm.
3. Linea is 113bhp and 207nm@2200 rpm.
4. City has 0-100 timing of 11.40 sec. so if 11.14 is true as fiat claims for tjet, tjet becomes the fastest(?) petrol in this segment! Atleast faster than the city.[clap]
5. With such power and weight FE of 14.6kmpl is too good.
6. There are not many cars in India specially this side of 20L that can match the near to perfect blend of ride and handling of the Linea.
7. Those alloys look gorgeous and so is the new special colour.
8. Bigger and better quality tyres and all four disc brakes, well done FIAT.
9. At 9 lakhs this car becomes the best buy with virtually no competition, only if FIAT actually offers the kind of services that are mentioned in this article.
10. Leather seats give the interiors a luxurious look.
11. The chrome on the dash seems to be brighter than other Lineas.
12. Chrome exhaust tip and the new antenna adds to the already amazing looks of the Linea and give it a sportier look.
13. Adding a remote control for the ICE, again well done FIAT.

Verdict --> THE BEST JUST GOT EVEN BETTER!!

Will i buy it? HELL YEAH[thumbswink]
Once it is launched in Jaipur i'll be after my dad to buy this with all that i have got!!

Well well actually am getting impressed by the car after seeing some first in segment features! If RSM'S pricing is correct then its good infact a great buy in the sub 10L segment!

What if i don drink wine , will they give something else?:lol!:
Good that they are delivering to the home rather than during delivery , because people will get tempted to drink it while driving!

Glad to know that Fiat Linea T-Jet is getting launched with power, performance and features like 113 bhp at 5000 rpm and the best-in-class 207 Nm at 2200 rpm, meaty 205/55R16 tyres, all disc-brakes, imported leather upholstery, innovative marketing strategy, etc. that will make Fiat India overcome its depressive mood and compete with the segment and market leaders.

Fiat India should give custom-built accessories option for its elite customers, who could afford to pay the extra cost for features like hill-holder assist, rain-sensitive wipers, light-sensitive headlamps, reverse parking sensors, etc., which Fiat Linea T-Jet rightly deserves to have.
