Good to hear a pleasant service experiance !

Underbody coating for 3300/- WHOA [clown]
this must be the split up , hmm the one which i follow.
3M material Cost 500/-
petrol to mix with that , some half a litre.
underbody wash some 150 at wash point.
then labour charge some 550 (scrubbing under body with sand paper and then painting.)

If the 3M guy does the same porcedure at my garage it is charged 2500 for small car tp customer and we are paid say 300 to 400 as commission. If he paint there is warranty of 4 to 5 years.

Warranty fails if you bottom your car , reason they quote , the air goes through the bottomed area and spoils the whole thing - true.

thanks ilango for the info. but now i feel like [frustration]
if i had asked you before it would have saved some bucks[cry].

after inspecting the underbody work i felt it that i made myself a better fool.
as it is only 40 percent of area which is being coated rest/mojority of the things are engine guard, torsion beam ,muffler extnsn and plastics or fibre.

Proper procedure is to leave the
exhaust pipe , engine part in front and petrol tank in rear.

Some ask for painting the rear petrol tank too , but that are prone to slight scratches and there by air enters and makes all the painting weak.

clocking 4306km

after installation of speakers i hear some rattles . strangely i installed the speakers in front door but rattling sound seems to be coming from rear doors as well need to check.

nowadays i feel light engine vibration on steering at idle, earlier it wasnt there rather it felt dead/or disconnected from engine , i think there is some change in stock tuning or maybe some thing else.

interior noise is getting muted means it is getting more and more silent . no more i hear the diesel clatter inside the cabin.

had a chance to test the high speed on a 4 lane highway at kochin Angamali route .
at idle at full press of accel the odo can rev up 5100rpm. did not push that high on highway.
in 5th gear it goes
40kmph at 1000rpm
160kmph at 4000rpm .

boomy sound is much reduced rather engine grunt is heard which is much pleasing than earlier.
here is the photos with some updates.
cheers

The car looks really neat and attractive jayadev. One should really learn how to keep the car clean from you.[thumbsup]

Glad to hear that you have tested the car's limits performance wise!

very happy to see a satified fiat owner. myself & ilango were discussing last night on getting a used diesel vehicle on the wake of skyrocketing petrol rates and the main contender was Palio 1.9D/ Palio Adventure.

@shailinder, I guess it's not Fiat's rule. It's govt of India regulation to have only one rear light glowing for Reverse gear since 2008 (not sure about the year though).

If you had noticed, you can find many Logans & SX4s that way.

Ya, you are right. Well i did notice it in some cars but did not know that it is because of Governement rules or something. Still Fiat could have placed it higher rather than keeping it so low. In bumper to bumper traffic if someone is reversing his Punto. Person behind will not be able to know and might proceed further.

life is not easy with kids anytime they may end up in trouble. i think we should rewrite the same with car or "punto"

somebody broke the rear wiper .
thankfully the person was much generous he left the broken part on the floor i bought rs.5/- fevilite adhesive and glued it hope it would stay there.

sometimes i feel people are short of papers or books i see all sort of language names , romantic affairs, even synopsis written on my car. i think people have kind of delusion that anything white is equivalent to write something , and what could be better than sloppy/curvy body of punto. nice work gentlemen and children.

ps:- the wiper material is plastic very weak and cheap. i was just expecting sooner it has to break off on its own or as said above. some cars have metallic frames. i wish if fiat had used metallic it would have been better.
