^^Diesel vehicles will always be in demand in india atleast as long as the price gap between petrol and diesel is around or more than 20.[frustration]
But yes it will be interesting to see the sales figures based on the fuel split.

As expectations go up and competition hots up sadly TML and M.M seem to be most hit.I wonder if giving them all the same playing field has cost "our" manufacturers too much? I know its all for good.Else we would still be in ambys and premier padminis. But perhaps a small leg up is ok? Like a o.5 %tax benefit over the rest[:)]

please upload diesel vs petrol numbers of all available models to see whether the demand for diesel vehicles is there or not?...
Sure. Thanks to Iron Rock, we have managed to arrange those figures.

PS: Figures of Honda City are an eye opener. Not a single Petrol unit sold. Proves the ol’ saying 'Give ‘em what they want'. [thumbsup]

I am a bit surprised to see Ford Ecosport move out of the top 10, I mean there was so much buzz(hype?) about it! How many months did it breach the top 10 in India, I think just one month?

Punto, must be suffering because of pending EVO launch.
Though celeron figuresare high, yet see one in Pune.
Aria sales rise is unexplained.

If we compare d/p ratio of MSIL figures with others such as hyundai, chevy, one can understand what MSIL owes to fiat.

Tata Indigo Manza:

> Diesel: 21

> Petrol: 1
Absolutely shocked to see Tata Manza's sale figure for February. 22 units in total is an absolute shocker. Its a very practical car IMO. Can be due to a production constraint regarding some part in the Manza or else I guess all the hype created by the upcoming Zest must have led to such abysmal numbers for the current car. March figures will throw better light on this if actually it was due to some production constraints or if the car is just not selling at the moment.

[:D] 350Z!
This is the first time i am seeing separate sales figures for The Tata cars-Manza,Indigo CS and Indica in a loong time-i wish we had a break up of the indica and vista.
The Manza has sold 1 petrol version in a month! Amazing-consider its as big as a higher level car and the engine is a Fiat engine! Sadly the Linea Petrol has outsold it and so have all the rest of the petrol full size sedans.
The Indigo CS petrol is almost a no show and the Indica Petrol (i assume indica and vista) did not even open their account!
If the revotron fails to sell big numbers,TML is in big big trouble as diesel is bound to get less attractive as time goes on!
