Exclusive: Ford Ecosport Pre-Launch Coverage, New Delhi

Ford has formally unveiled the production version of Ecosport for the first time ever in India. This event took place simultaneously in two major Indian cities: New Delhi (Select City Walk, Saket) and Mumbai (Infinity Mall, Malad), amongst the enthusiastic Indian public and media who are patiently waiting for the Ecosport to arrive at Ford dealerships. Since it is not an official launch but more of a marketing exercise, Ford did not announce details on the pricing whatsoever. However, what's confirmed is that Ecosport will come with 3 engine options (1L, 1.5L Petrol & 1.5L Diesel), four variants and choice of automatic transmission (On 1.5 Petrol). We received an exciting opportunity to become more familiar with this car by checking inside out. You’re equally lucky to see such a detailed coverage first on TAI. Let’s take a look.

Ford Ecosport Engine Options:

> 1.0L (Petrol): All new Ecoboost engine which Ford claims to deliver a power of traditional 1.6L Engine.

> 1.5L (Petrol): This is suitable for those who consider more is never enough. Dual Clutch Auto will come with this engine option.

> 1.5L (Diesel): A welcome move without a doubt. A capable Diesel unit is need of the hour in a SUV such as this considering rising Petrol prices.

The tailgate mounted spare wheel provides Ecosport a more rugged look.

Yup. That chrome neatly disguised in the tail lamp assembly is actually a door handle.

Fantastic coverage 350Z [clap]

Exterior looks fine with some good paint finish but not so good fit and finish evident in a couple of pictures.Waiting for the very important interior pictures.
Lets us see the quality of materials used inside. Do you have any picture of the engine bay ?

:eek:Shocking to see some poor quality of materials used and poor interior fit and finish at places[from pictures].

Is this the top end model? From the pictures,the plastic used in the lower part of the dash and some other places reminds me of the 2003 model Indica which I used to own some eight years ago.

Or is it just me seeing so[confused]

Latest reports indicate that Ecosport will debut this June. Ford aims to make it the second big seller after Figo (Source: BS Motoring).

Ford needs a better course as far as their plastic, fit and finish is concerned across the range.

the ES displayed in mumbai was without engine it was just the body shell and interiors . it was the titanium model and people were flocking to see the ES.
iam uploading pics of various people siting and trying the ES .OVERALL BUZZ IS PEOPLE ARE LIKING IT

The quality of the interiors are a bit disappointing as compared with the exterior looks. In some pictures looks like they even didn't clean the interior properly before the disclosure.

This cars are only for display purpose , in Mumbai the ES was not even having engine .
