If ford prices the ES correct and if the reviews are promising it can be a clean sweep for ford .

The xa alpha is 4mts , the sx4 crossover is not if iam not mistaken .

thats right XA Alpha is 0.01 mm lesser that 4 meters

Suzuki XA Alpha to also spawn Jimny successor?

I have no hope that Ecosport will be lanuched before those 32 contest winners start exploring the city!! (ie, April or May)

Reason: The contest theme clearly states that the winners get to drive & experience Ecosport ahead of its launch!

Contest entry closes by end March after which selected winners will drive around in their respective cities for next 2 months and thats when Ecosport is going to officially get launched.
Does my assessment here sound logical?? What do you thnik?

According to what I have read, You are right. But God and FORD knows whats going in their mind.

Now the most important pictures..Rear leg room, The person sitting is tall (probably over 6 foot) and it looks decent! . Under thigh support may be not adequate for tall people. But I am ok with it so far.

Thanks Indian for the pics.
All pics except last two seems to be nice.
But in case of last two, the second last shows that the space is cramped at the rear when the person is sitting completely upright (taking full back support) even then his legs seems to be cramped and uncomfortable.
In case of last pic I suppose the front seat is somewhat pushed in front, but still space does not seems to be much. In this case, there is a constraint that we don't know to what level the front seat is pushed in front.

Also, Ford is somewhat losing its customer to Duster and also to Maruti Ertiga. There is a limit to hype and now the things are at the maximum level and now even small drawback in the car can make them suffer. I believe so, may be wrong.

I called three Ford dealers today, from two I got the response that it will be launched either in the last week of March or first week of April and the third dealer told that it will launch in the second week of April with price tag of Rs. 7 lac to Rs. 10 lac, this range includes both Petrol and Diesel.
I hope it is launched at the earliest !!!

Ecosport will be a next 'Swift' story in India if priced right. So better to wait and see the Indian owners experience and reviews.

Regarding the back seat, Yes that's one of the main thing to watch for, in the pics you can see front seat in two extreme positions and the person sitting definitely 6 footer. If the driver is 6 footer and the person sitting behind him is a 6 footer, I feel there will be a tight fit. You have to see if that is the case for you. Generally for Indian height it should not be a big issue. Having said that, don't expect the ES to be spacious like XUV. But I expect it to be in par with any compact sedan, if that is the case then 'go' for me.

Definitely Ford is loosing customers for Duster and Ertiga but we can do nothing other than wait. If you are really in hurry I think there is no choice but if you can wait atleast 2 months I think we will have something.

Wow that is fabulous news. Eagerly awaiting for 15th and your updates about the Ecosport launch. I hope the launch is not in stages, like just the showcasing of the vehicle. Prices and variants should also be revealed so as the prospective buyer can book the particular variant which suits his requirement & budget. Though i highly doubt Ford would do that on 15th itself.
