Thanks 350Z for that update, Yep it looks full blown accident with airbags in action. BTW you said that they gave you Nokia Lumia phone. I assume that its a windows mobile phone? What about the compatibility with android and iphones? I see 'Microsoft' badging inside, any info on this?
SYNC is compatible with Bluetooth enabled phones of different OS. You’ll read more about it in our review shortly.

'Evoque' should be bench mark to any SUV manufacturer IMO
Now, on topic, Definitely emergency feature is a definitely great thing from Ford. I am big advocate for road safety. Even Honda also doing lot of safety initiative in their design. Hope these things become mandatory in coming years. I feel even there should be a feature of vehicle locator built in to car. But nice initiative but in India things are slow to catch up as safety is the last thing people consider while purchase of a car in most cases.
That wont be a case since you know In India there is only 1-2 % of people who are enthusiasts and around 90% people look 2 things in a car VFM and premium feel and space, no worry about handling, features, safety, and for the record the Volkswagen brand has huge huge potential in India as they satisfy 90% customers in India and the polo is a superb example even though its not in the mainstream list of premium hatch backs in city areas its a winner because in polo only top end gets safety, seat adjust etc but people get blown away by the quality and i do respect VW forthe quality matter they simply rock

here is an Australian review of Ford Ecosport

media.smh.com.au/cars/car-reviews/first-drive-ford-ecosport-4280806.html

I have sat in all the three cars . My pick look wise
1) trax , 2 ) ES , 3) duster .

Its unfortunate that trax is not comming to India .
Trax is a great car, its actually Vauxhall Mokka a german car brand under GM which made this car but its not an enthusiasts car, if we see the reviews of Mokka we will understand its practical comfortable and has good quality and space but its above 4m and the price will be in between Duster and Yeti thats pricey! and the engine options if coming to India is trouble because its massive and has the highest kerb weight around 1360-1455 kg so it needs some 1.6 or 2.0 engines to power it so it wont be priced lightly, hence Ecosport retains it ground again[;)]

Dude 1989rs500,We all love the ES & are eager for the launch but it too will have some short-comings. Try to analyze from that point of view as well. Just a friendly suggestion. [:)]

the Australian review is quite to the point, short and generally positive. However the oriental background music reminded me of old Hollywood movies based on exotic India.

yes i agree it has shortcomings like the questionable built quality, the rear doors that is still a mystery in terms of durability and the rear seats that doesn't accommodate 3 abreast, but when i think of the positives it clearly overshadow the negatives, that's why, in some previous discussions we have seen people getting misleading reviews from oncars.in etc,i am a person personally exited about Ecosport and i might be a little bit armature ish in my behavior since i am a true enthusiast(i believe), i like driving very much, whenever i get a chance to drive my Ford Figo petrol i drive it with AC off because with AC on its so slow, and i drive safe as well, but when i reach twists i really enjoy fords DNA that i couldn't find in even a Skoda Laura 1.8 Tsi i drove, because even though it had Power it didn't excite me the way the Ford does,Skoda stayed in the top spectrum of passenger cars handling prowess, but Ford pushes it a little further maybe into the real sports car segment and yet giving decent practicality and comfort and Value for money, My dream is to own a BMW 335i, but as of now i wont be able to so i try cheap fun and nothing satisfied me like Ford cars does.

I have actually sat and travelled in the trax in Toronto ( Canada ) last month it is bigger , chunkier and looks better then ES .
And there is no point again in comparing that car as gm clearly told they won't bring that in India .
My comment was only regarding looks since I have seen all the 3 inside out very closely .

Hi fellas, spoke to the ford guy from chennai . He has given the information that Ecosport would be launched in Goa and the date will be either today or tomorrow . He said that Ford is trying their maximum to launch on May 28th in other places if not would be happening on June 6th or nearer . And further he revealed that around 4000 units have been produced already . But I feel the 4000 units might be in production stage still and may include export units too .Ford is expecting around 10000 bookings soon after the launch .
Why are they launching in Goa first ? This sounds weird . Maybe what he meant was that it will be previewed in Goa first which ford did already .

Well i didn't want to be offensive there i just told that the Trax is a good car but even if its brought to India it wont be coming with the excise benefits of Ecosport and the pricing will be more or less like the Duster say 11l on the road for base variant to almost 14l on the road for the top end variant and for that price still its good, but i doubt the midsize sedans like vento, rapid,Sunny,City,Verna etc are hard to pass by,so i just meant that Ecosport has put up a better deal by pricing it below 10l(i believe for titanium variants of 1.0 ecoboost,1.5 Tdci, 1.5l Manual petrol) on the road, also Ecosport again has something more to offer in terms of handling and features when compared with trax. Trax is a very good car and indeed i wish it was to launched in India before the Nissan Duster .

here is another review of Ford Ecosport by times now

i too have been a Ford loyalist all along, and had been waiting for the Ecosport for about an year. However, when i took a day off from work just to watch Ecosport in flesh in a nearby mall, i was completely disappointed.. It definitely has the looks to attract, but in terms of space or comfort i would rate it lower than many hatchbacks.. ES is definitely not a comparison to the likes of Duster or XUV 500.. however, i think Ecosport as a product will be a success, since there are many who would find it meeting the requirements well.. To me the lack of space and premium-ness is a deal breaker.
