I am planning Hella Aux Lighting Upgrade for my XUV 500. Kindly suggest.

I mostly do highway trips.Jammu, CHD, Bathinda, Saharanpur, Dehradun etc. The factory lights are good but insufficient for night highway run. Request all to suggest hella aux lighting for my XUV.

Thanks @bhvm saw the 700FF hellas on Kinshuk's thread. Any idea recommendation whether they are the perfect fit for my requirement of long range/coverage high speed night driving?

Yes these do seem to have decently tight beam pattern however I do not have first hand experience with them. Its better to ask Kinshuk how do these compare with XUV high beam. IMO, the Default XUV high beam is pretty tight too, it just needs decent bulbs to perform well.

Thanks again bhvm the default headlamp is good till the time you are under 60-70KMPH in night. Once beyond they hugely dissatisfying, especially the right side one which is further lowered by factory settings not to blind the oncoming traffic. was checking the online hella site and found the following https://shop4hella.com/products/driving-lamp/500-series/hella-black-magic-500.html. can anyone...Kinshuk... help.

Thanks. Compared the Rallye 4000 with Black magic 500 on the light output, both are almost same with 500 Meter of coverage, however, the black magic 500 has better spread than rallye 4000. No doubt the Rallye 4000 is bigger and better in spec department.

Also sent PM to @dr.kaustubh for his feedback who is already using Hella Black Magic 500. Lets see what he has to say.

My Hellas are good for driving at speeds upto 110-120kmph I never go above them, gives me a range of around 200-250 meters in complete darkness.
Pretty tight beam pattern as the width is not more than a lane at a distance of 5-10 meters.

A good VFM product.

If you have the budget go for HID aux lamps from hella, piaa or kc hilites.

Thanks @Kinshuk for vouching 700FF. The speed and range suggested by you is also good enough for me. By the way do not have that kind of budget [frustration] to go for KC.

Also did some RnD on 500 Black Magic found bit negative on range and build (ABS plastic housing). I think I will go with 700FF as yours. One final question are 700FF better in comparison to the stock headlights of XUV or they are only complementing the stock headlights?

Thanks.

mine are more of an addition to the high beams and not stand alones. Pair them up with the high beams and its daylight ahead of your vehicle to a distance of 150m. check there must be some beam pics in my thread.

Hi bhvm,
I connected the Neolite 1010 aux lights to battery yesterday night to check the light throw and found the light beam looking like alphabet O with very less illumination in the middle, not at all good.

I think I will try to get the spot beam instead

This is the infamous Black hole problem you are facing.
The bulb is either not centered properly or the Length of Bulb is Not correct.

I opened the housing and the bulb sits tight onto the holder but the holder is little loose and doesn't sit tightly.
I will visit the shopkeeper soon and try to get a spot beam lamp instead.

Neolite Products

Open the above link and there are two type of reflector types for spot lamps (simple curved and multi reflector), whats the difference and which one's better?
Out of all the spot lamps, I am thinking of getting any of these or whichever is available at the shop: NEO-981, NEO-778, NEO-862, NEO-982, NEO-890 or NEO-770. Although NEO-770 is the biggest of all these lamps. Is bigger the better or opposite?

Perhaps its due to loose holder that bulb in not being centered properly, Hence the Black hole problem.

A Simple curved reflector will provide more punchy beam straight ahed. A Pleated reflector has some spill and width. What we call as a Soft spot.

A bigger lamp is More efficient, Takes high wattage lamps more kindly, and could be designed for tighter beam pattern.
